The Great War is finally coming to an end and Riku and his waifu's wishes are finally becoming true, to create a world with games. Pretty fun volume, going to include the epilogue (Ending Talk) to the blog summary. Now I have no idea when Volume 7 comes out.

About the holy shit volume 6 spoiler episode 12, Miko does summon a tornado, TO SUMMON AN OLD DEUS BELIEVED TO BE AN ANCIENT GOD TO BE THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE OLD DEUS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To inherit the one who behests (Riku's waifu) with the rules she created,
With the approval of all 16 races,
With the One True God laying down the Ten Oaths,
Looking at it, on this day, at this day begins, the world (Disboard) has already changed.
Really loved the Great War volume. My conjecture is that along with being the reincarnation of the Ex-Machina Shuvi, Shiro is also somehow connected with the central connective body of the Ex-Machinas which would explain her machine-like behavior, prodigal calculations, and her broken way of speech. Hopefully volume 7 would delve deeper into this. But for right now, looking forward to see the revelations of the summoned Old Deus.
That was so freaking tragic.... Wth I didn't expect this at all... and Corone being told by Steph that Corone never cried during her reign? All the feels.
If the whole NGNL LN series was like this volume, this would be far far better. The MC that times were far more likable than the usual ones, and the story far more interesting as well. If I were to rate this one, this would probably get a 9/10, whereas the other volumes as a whole would barely get a 6...
BTW, "old deus"? And not "Ordo Deus"?? Isn't that a romanization mistake?
This is by far the best 'origin story' I've read in my entire manga experience!
I dunno but this volume really speaks volumes (pun unintended) about the whole of NGNL so far, not to mention tying up loose ends as to how the [Ten Pledges] came to be.
But I'm all sold for the tragedy with this volume, hands down 10/10.
Agree with everyone who thought this was the best back story telling. Cried like a baby on Shuvi, Riku and Corone lines at the Climax. 10/10 !!
Words cannot describe how amazing this volume was.. Glad to see Izuna isn't dense and the story wasn't wasted on her.
A bit late to reply
Finished volume 6 yesterday, one of the best backstories, never felt like I was reading the usual light hearted NGNL. It was just mind blowing.
This is the best volume in the series I've read yet. I like how there's less fanservice and more focus on the plot. The characters are also more mature, but that's most likely due to being affected by the Great War. The backstory is very amazing. You can almost feel how unfortunate it is to be during those times, living without knowing how you'll die and losing hope that the war will end. The emotions that the characters felt were portrayed very well, too.
I had to stop and think about how lucky I am after I finished this book.
Tbh I feel a bit confused with all the small things suggesting Sora and Shiro being reincarnations of Riku and Shuvi, but at the same Tet clearly says (Waneko transaltion, page 257) that reincarnation doesn't exist in that world.
Other than that, as awesome as this volune was, it's not the reason I read NGNL. Too tragic. If whole story was like that I probably wouldn't even start it.
Well, he said "in THIS world", so maybe he bent the rules and let them reincarnate in our world only to transfer them to their original one?
This was the best volume so far, deeper than the movie based on it and hitting even harder even without music to help convey emotions.
As a bonus it is a somewhat closed story, so perfect to infect other people with NGNL :)
