| Well, i managed to turn this thread into some proper shit slinging. I feel accomplished, i guess. Fai said: Volbla said: That's stupid. That's how it has been in the franchise for ~10+ years now. I was gonna say that it's like something out of a hentai where you're just looking for an excuse to make sex happen, but then i realized that Fate/Stay Night actually is a porn game, so i guess the joke's on me ¯(ツ)/¯ To be honest i don't remmeber many details about the first season, because for a long time it didn't have much of a story. And when it got all serious and started caring about its story instead of parodying magical girls was when it got boring. But either way, i can't say i ever noticed anything special about Illya, other than her turning into a deus ex machina from time to time. But not even touching on why that happens for the entire season just made me feel like i wasn't supposed to care. Fai said: S1 literally ended with "A new challenger appears" scene. Which is still as if a new story has begun. Very Dragon Ball-esque. I have no way of telling if that was at all related to the card collecting. Or if it's relevant to what's going on now, for that matter. Yes, it felt like the events in the first season appeared for no reason, because that's how it was presented. It was all very routine. Nobody made a big deal out of it other than mentioning that it was kind of weird, but as far as i know weird things could happen all the time in this world. It's a world of magic after all. I didn't realize that Ruby and Sapphire were the most powerful things in the ever, nor that they were sent by the most powerful person. The show hasn't told me that he's more than just some dude. This isn't even just a spin-off, it's an alternate universe spin-off. I don't think it's fair to expect me to have deep background knowledge to appreciate what's going on. Nor do i see how that really matters. They gotta send someone to deal with weird shit going on, right? And sending bickering teenagers whose magical items abandon them doesn't exactly instill any respect for their mission. Why am i talking about the plot of this show? The plot sucks :( |
| The plot sucks because, from what I understand, you dont know much, other than what FZ showed you right? And come on: "This isn't even just a spin-off, it's an alternate universe spin-off" In Nasuverse it is the exact same thing.Same rules, same world but different development in events and chars. So yes knowing some things other than the names of some chars is required to actually like and understand this show. You would KNOW that Ilya isnt a DEM, why Rin and Luvia are selected etc... |

The plot sucks :( You do realize as its a spin-off knowledge of the universe its set in is expected. Also the reason why Illya is so powerful is because shes not even human, shes a Homunculus and is the body of the Holy Grail an omnipotent wishing device all of this you should know from watching Fate/Stay Night, and even if you just watched Fate/Zero illya mother is known to be a Homunculus and was the grail in the previous war. |

There's no such thing as "spin off" in this franchise and EVERYTHING is "alternate universe". KnK knowledge is still valid. FSN knowledge is still valid, etc. Different worlds but same multiverse. FSN already explains how both Zelretch creations work as well as what True Magic is, so anyone who paid attention would have a good idea on why its overpowered. That's like using a tactical nuclear warhead to swat a fly. Nor do i see how that really matters. They gotta send someone to deal with weird shit going on, right? Nope since its japan. And its already established that nobody gives that many fucks about japan, since they are locked in the three-sided war in europe/US. Tohsaka family as established in other works is responsible for this town, but that does not explain why Lluvia is there, nor why they have kaleidosticks. | About the 10 episode thing. It is obvious this series can't be longer since we will have FS/N remake starting in fall/2014. So IMO if 2wei sales are good enough they will continue where they left off with another 10 episodes in winter or later. Then there will probably there will be another TM series (carnival phantasm? extra? apocrypha?) and then if the sales were good enough (and the manga has already finished) we might have 3rei!! *wipes drool* |

| 5/5 A breath of yuri-hentai is coming to blow on good storytelling, going to upset more than normal vision. You can not say that the anime is not thrilling experience. Also for this sudden news, I gave full marks. The main characters are proving to be a great fun, Rin and Luvia are real pests, who laughs at the end. Even the secondary characters are a treat, as the nurse. Plot, animations, drawings and music industry all of a good standard, compliments the Silver Link and not only for this anime well done. |
