| My mom named my first name after the greek goddess of peace because she studies Greek history and had a liking to the name. My last name is just a common asian last name. Eventually they shortened up my name to "Rin" because everyone was just too lazy to type my full name. Ironically my real name and nickname have opposite meanings rip |

| My first name "Ryan" means king. So after learning the meaning of my name, as a kid, I took it hella out of context and became a mini little narcissist. Because of that, growing up, I never had an issue with confidence because I carried myself like and felt like a "king" (minus all of the fancy robes and stuff like that). I just felt inherently better than those around me. I strove to be the best at everything: athletics, academics, games, etc. and hated losing. For a while, in my preteen years, I just stopped using my real name because I was awoken to the reality that I was no better than those around me and that all humans have their strengths and flaws. I grew a lot and during my teen years I used my name again. Moral of the story, my name definitely had an impact on how I perceived myself as a kid and created part of the foundation for the person I am today. However, today I don't feel that my name has much significance anymore and don't mind being called a variety of different things. |
