The Witcher 3 and I really like it. It's a fairly typical high fantasy world, but since the problems of the people and how they speak is more realistic, I really can get into it. I don't like super clean and happy pseudo medieval worlds. Here you could feel everywhere that most people's lives are painful and short, so you could understand where everyone's bitterness is coming from.
There is also incredible detail that is into the world and character interactions, story etc., so I always have the feeling of "go and read finally the novels" lol.
I also enjoy many quests, the leveling system (since I hate grinding!) and the decisions I have to make. They always feel like both options are equally awful.
The graphics and music are really beautiful and I really like to explore such a big world, I guess, I'll play it longer than 4 months or so.
So far I really like Geralt as well, since he's not the type, who's overly heroic, but he still cares, and I also like his humor. Ooh and I really like Yennefer, I'll try to romance her :D I'm actually curious for the novels too, since I haven't played the other parts before and want to know more, and at least I'll try the Netflix series.
Btw I absolutelly love the humor of this game and how everyone is sarcastic and is ready to roast each other lol

And then, of course, I played Pokemon Sword and in the next days, I'll start with shield. I don't care about the dex tbh and I really like some of the new Pokemon. I looked forward to see Galar since it's based on UK and I like UK a lot.
The cities are designed very well and I really enjoyed them, but there doesn't seem to be much more content in the cities or on the routes. They seemed to be quite short, which disappointed me the most, especially the fairy wood and the fairy village were small.
The nature zone is quite a good idea and I got every Pokemon on my team I wanted before I had four badges, which is pretty nice.
I absolutelly adore the raven and really like some others too. I have the raven on my team, the demon, the elephant, my water starter, the... Kiss!Badger and now I'll get my Charmander with the ability to gigamax, since I adore this Charizard form.
Also, I always was underleveled, since I didn't catch any other Pokemon than my team and didn't fight wild Pokemon, only the trainers on the routes and in gyms. This was nice too.
What I also enjoyed was how much references they could bring in to the actual UK, from steampunk to industry to castles and.. tea, punk rock, soccer, the queen and colonies they had in India and Egypt (and other countries), where they got the elephant and snake from and I also guess the starter grass monkey.
They even got it right that dinosaur skeletons had been found back then in UK and they had put wrong pieces together with hilarious results. STILL, these fossils are abominations and I feel sorry for these poor creatures... I didn't need THESE designs. These poor things look like they would say in the next second "Ed... Edward, it hurts." .__.
Storywise it was too short as well, but I enjoyed Marnie and Bede as characters and his development, although they could had had more screentime; both. I liked that there is no serious "evil team" to stop, because they always got on my nerves.
It's so nice that there is an actual tournament and stadiums. I missed those from Colloseum and XD. The atmosphere in them was awesome and some new osts are pretty good as well. |
