Better to check Amazon Stalker for all sales estimates, but they are...

BD: 1,731
DVD: 1,345

God wish I hadn't checked the estimates. Mushishi barely 5000. Ping Pong even less. Why.
Though at least NGNL and Sidonia somewhat deserve their high (estimated) sales - well, in comparison to the other stuff.

Nice to see intial D still doing decent.

Next week i'll be posting the first summer 2014 estimates.
This week haikyuu!! is the only notable v1 release as far as sales go. Captain earth is sitting at only 3.0k, and Escha & logy is sitting at 1.5k. InuNeko is acteally doing decent for a short with it 1.6k, but they real winner of this week will be Haikyuu!! with its estimate of 15.6k

By the way, Captain earth has a event ticket in V1, so unless its underestimated by a lot it. Its average is going to be horrible.

why aren't they under 'this week's sales' then? or are they just excluded so we can compare them with only the other anime from the same season..

Most of the series have outperformed their stalker estimation so I would expect both to do that. Mushishi S2 probably will have a significant drop from S1 but it's still a pretty good sales number, while Ping Pong is selling amazingly good for a series of its nature. If you have suggested that Ping Pong could reach 4000 before the season started most people here would have laughed at you.

Noragami volume 5's total is 2.6k. Hopefully next week it can add another 400 copies to reach 3k. If it does, which could be possible, that's not poor. Not great, but not poor.

My 2 favorite spring shows almost selling 10k :)

I am honestly surprised that Mekaku sold that much, I mean I kinda liked it but there were a lot of problems with it and even fans of the source material were complaining that the adaptation is shit. Oh well, good for Shaft I guess.

Is it too much to ask for a compilation of the sales for the individual UtaPri idol songs frm Maji Love 2000%?

I know Ranmaru sold ard 27 or 29K, Otoya sold 26K, Cecil & Syo sold 22K each... Reiji's was 19K?

If someone would put them up, it would be helpful. ^^

It's aimed for Japanese so the humor is more aimed for them. For example the references were sometimes kind of hard to understand since they were aimed for Japanese people. Also the manga is actually popular in Japan. It's just more for Japanese taste than Western.

I'm the only one who is happy that Noragami sales are weak. I think they should be even weaker than that. Blade and Soul was more entertaining than this anime, and no I'm not joking.

I'm aslo happy that Nanana no Maizoukin sales are weak. THis anime was boring. I've seen people even claim that this was best anime in the last season. Crazy people.

I'm disappointed that a crap like Mekakucity Actors and Gochuumon is selling higher NGNL and Sidonia.

I'm disappointed that Kamigami no Asobi is selling that high. I've seen Amnesia and Borthers Conflict. I like Diabolic Lovers more because of darker theme and cuter Heroine.

As for Love Live!. I liked Love Live! but these sales are insane. It selling as if it is the anime of decade. Did attack on titan even sell that much ?

I think this is the best representation of a hardcore Love Live fanboy. Basically he pumps about $300 USD worth of money into getting these items called Love Gems that you can exchange for rare cards trying to get one Ultra Rare of his waifu and is brimming with anticipation. Skip to 7:00 for the best part.

To the poster above me, technically Mekakucity Actors isn't exactly doing all that much better than the likes of NGNL and Sidonia since those discs are like a 3rd the price of equivalent first volume counterparts (The DVD's are something like $20 bucks when converted) and with event tickets they're already down something like 2.5K sold with the second volume and the fans have to get the next volume every couple of weeks. It really depends on how you want to look at it whether it's doing good or not but it easily had the potential to rival the record breaking Love Live first volume sales if it had had a half decent adaptation since it also includes extras like CD singles and what not which fans of the franchise that total in the hundreds of thousands are likely to have wanted even if they think the anime is garbage. No idea why SHAFT seemingly fucked up a sure thing so hard and just made it a modest seller that is already trending downward from the 10K line.

Attack on Titan did not sell as much no, Love Live has the best selling single volume of the century (not counting World of Golden Eggs which I'm not sure really qualifies as anime) and is even starting to outsell some of the Evangelion volumes from the 90's which were previously seen as untouchable. To put it back into perspective again though the Eva volumes had things like Laserdisc, VHS and possibly at some point DVD to add to it's total (not sure about the last one as DVD might not have existed yet) while Love Live is just straight BD. In terms of best selling Blu-Ray volume from a TV anime of all time I think Love Live does have that distinction.

Mekaku city actors has a normal price when you take into acount its only 1 episode per disc. If you add up all 12 discs together, you get a price tag that is similiar too a normal 1-cour show. The only difference is that the event ticket drop will have a bigger effect.

I hope Mushishi would sell well ><

That's the best representation of the future of Japanese gaming if there aren't more regulations on the mobile industry, that's insane. An example of how mobile gaming is one of the largest money pits in the history of commerce.

I don't get it... It wasn't that funny at all, how can it sell that much? o_O

It's aimed for Japanese so the humor is more aimed for them. For example the references were sometimes kind of hard to understand since they were aimed for Japanese people. Also the manga is actually popular in Japan. It's just more for Japanese taste than Western.

In short - the language barrier and comedy is subjective.

I'm pretty sure it's still cheaper even then. the Blu-Rays come in at something like 2500 yen when all the discounts are applied at least for amazon preorders, but obviously a lot of it's sales are storefront so it only applies to the bargain savvy customers. Even then if you double the price it's still a fair bit cheaper than most anime discs which average in the 7500 yen range while two Mekaku BDs give you something like 6912 yen total over the same period. Most discs don't have nearly the incentive that Mekaku City Actors has for fans in the music CD's across the whole release schedule either. I mean the values pretty decent for these things for what people are paying and they've tried everything to make it's fanbase want to plunk down and buy them, but clearly it's just deemed not worth hassle for the vast majority of them like Love Live is for it's equally massive fanbase.

I'm not sure if it was a realistic estimate, but 2ch seemed to be predicting 50K bare minimum for each disc before the show aired, but instead it looks like only Love Live has even a chance of closing in on that average. I don't think it's going to do it, but then it's hard to predict where it's at exactly because when the season started all of the discs were clustered towards the top of the preorder charts in sequential order on pretty much every vendor out there and as we saw the first volume for it was vastly underestimated and it just doesn't seem to slow down the same way most series releases do. It's hard to tell just how many preorders that show got during the early weeks of it being available and it's just so absurdly popular.

I don't think Mekaku City Actors is likely to remain the 2nd best selling series of the Spring season either since a lot of potential heavy hitters like Haikyuu and Jojo have yet to come out and both should have some pretty strong DVD representation.

The Bandai Namco Triple Entente of idol franchises in Idolmaster, Love Live and Aikatsu alone are massive cash cows of people just throwing money at them. I believe the Idolmaster Cinderella Girls mobile game averages a billion yen a month or something like that in revenue, Love Live is Love live and still ever growing, and Aikatsu has grown to a 15 billion yen franchise and in a little over a year and already surpassed it's primary target of competition in the Precure franchise for the preteen female (and lets be honest middle aged salary man) demographic. Actually the only brands more valuable than Aikatsu to Bandai in order now are Gundam (80 billion), Kamen Raider, Super Sentai and One Piece. It's pretty terrifying though there's also some discontent as well with not all people being happy with Bandai Namco essentially nickle and diming it's customers to death. If you go on Amazon and read some of the comments on their recent game realizes you can experience it yourself with all the one star reviews and calls for boycotts.

Incidentally if you were amused by that video at all, here's "The Sequel" (TM)

I have the 2ch sales predictions (in terms of averages) from before the Spring Season started saved. Obviously some are way off now, and the Love Live! prediction is much higher than the initial 29.3k now. What I think is the Top 4 for Spring 2014 is Love Live!, Haikyuu!!, JoJo and possibly Mekaku... but it remains to be seen if Mekaku can hold over 12 volumes.

My prediction for Love Live! sales are (but I hope I am underestimating Vol.2~7 sales, since they will definitely have a large storefront effect) below. Vol.2 will be out on July 25th, which will be a big indicator of how the other volumes will sell.

Vol.1: 110~115k
Vol.2~6: 40~45k
Vol.7: 40~45k or 80~85k (if another suspected event ticket is bundled)

Average: 50k~55k or 55.7k~60.7k (if another suspected event ticket is bundled)

Has Noragami been doing poorly in general? I don't know what is considered "good" or "bad" in sales, since I'm usually not interested in 2nd seasons... but damn, Noragami has plenty of material left to animate and it's really good.

It becomes easier to understand when you see people willing to buy 55 copies of vol 1. But seriously, S2 of Love Live has been great and an improvement from S1, which is already a better K-On. So I pity those who haven't been watching it.

Thank you so much! I appreciate this ^_^

As expected, Tokiya sold the most, though I've always thought Otoya was the most popular guy though that changed after Maji Love 2000%

Cecil did better than I expected him to. Since he was suddenly introduced as the new Starish member and had some ppl hating him during the anime's airing, I was a bit worried.

Is there any info on the sempai-tachi? I know their CDs are just released a few months ago, and Camus' hasn't been released yet. but just asking anyway.
