| Shameless 2 years bump. I don't quite get why this is (was) getting denied as a "doujin", as far as I can tell, it meets all the requirements to be a valid anime entry. The one-man team is a gaijin, sure, but the short movie in question was created as his graduation project for Kobe Design University under the advice of industry legend, Eiji Otsuka himself. It's also unquestionable the influence of Shinkai during the production of it, as it's also credited on the "special thanks" during the credits. Just look at the artstyle. Speaking of which, it was also likely produced with ComixWave assets, on ComixWave studios, given the man works there. Needless to say, it also meets the obvious requirements of being produced solely in Japan, minimum lenght (it's 5min long). Ytb link. |
