Let's be honest, you can have the greatest script ever, but if don't deliver the visuals, there's little chance of your work reaching massive popularity.

That is actually true.
In fact, great visual and average script also sells

The sad part is, the great script with bad visual never sell... How I cry for Shinsekai Yori.

Consider the following...

Out of the 3, NGNL did the best on this site.

It's only natural that fans of the show to wish to see SAO II to reach NGNL's height for the site they subscribe to.

I guess we disagree... Completely.

I could be wrong, but imo, the odds are less than 1% for it to get anywhere near NGNL.

Considering how the original SAO fared, I agree. It won't even get close. Let's see how it goes.

Regardless of rating SAO is more popular than NGNL, especially in japan.

I didn't watch .hack, but Log Horison is so boring. All what I saw in Log Horison is ugly characters having long and boring dialog about economics and politics and other boring subject. Where is the fun in that ?!

Please don't compare a boring shit like this to something like NGNL and SAO. Even the OP song in SAO II is better than all log horison episodes combined. I didn't watch SAO II yet though.

If you thought LH was boring, you'd probably gouge your eyes out with a rusty spoon if you tried to watch .hack//sign.

Haven't watched NGNL yet, so can't say. But that's exactly what happened to SAO I, as it plummeted down from the top pretty easily.

We can determine it by how long it takes for NGNL to descend from there.

No. I honestly don't see why a sequel of SAO would be the next NGNL, when it's the other way around (NGNL was the next SAO). However, despite what other ppl say, I say NGNL is nowhere near as bad as SAO.

No, because the first Sword Art Online aired before NGNL
Although NGNL is pretty popular in Japan, but SAO is way more popular
and don't talk which one is the best or shittier

What even is this thread.

It's just casuals calling casuals casuals.

SAO, along with every other anime that gets hated on these boards appeals to the masses, and not your individual tastes. SAO gets love for it's strong visuals and character variety not it's "subpar" script.

If you don't like it drop it, stop being cancerous.

''as successful and popular''.

It depens on what you consider successful. If success is the happiness of the western audience on MAL and blogs then no, SAO series are one of the more hated ones. If you are talking about sales and number success, NGNL isn't even close. SAO was a huge business success and this probably will end up the same.

SAO > NGNL in actual success in the market
NGNL > SAO reviews and sweet talk

Don't compare this trash series to NGNL. Honestly this series is so bad I have no idea how people find anything else in it besides anime tropes and otaku pandering. Its actually disgusting that something this terrible can get away with getting high ratings.

There are many popular anime that deserve what they are, ex gintama. This is not one of them, we aren't hipsters, we just aren't teenage boys that just watched their first anime and think its good.

Except thats not all it is, whereas SAO thats ALL it is. NGNL didn't abandon its core premise to present some shitty forced romance and create a masterbatory power trip for people who relate to kirito and him winning in a VIDEO GAME with deus ex machina EVERY TIME.

The characters and villians in sao are so laughably bad, thats it seems borderline intentional. The writing is worse than some fanfiction level writing.

Sora wins with Deus Ex Machina.

The DEM in No Game No Life is essentially Sora being able to change shit he did in the past.

He presents evidence of his work, by your logic sherlock holmes is also deux ex machina even though he clearly explains his methods. What you are describing is not deux ex machina.

Deus ex machina would be using the power of friendship to win battles or hacking the game somehow or having a power in a video game that only you have. It is a problem being suddenly solved by new event, ability, or object. Explaining how a problem was solved is not deus ex machina.

Its deus ex machina if its an ass pull.

NGNL is asspulls.

It doesnt have to be a super power.

You should read that yourself since you don't understand how it works. I am not saying there is NO deux ex machina but not every situation is one or even a large percentage.

Any plot device introduced on the spot to assure the survival or victory of the main character is deus ex machina.

Including Sora randomly telling us a bunch of shit that didnt exist 5 minutes ago just so he can win.

See, as far as I am concerned. Kirito is an extremely skilled player and agreeably extremely overpowered too.

Now, for Sora, he's very calculating, more or less like Lelouch from Code Geass.

Although, both are similar in the fact that there are harems involved.
It's quite clear that SAO is stronger in the harem aspect though.

I think NGNL had the upper hand because of lower expectations, but i presume that SAO will not be the next NGNL, just because of the expectations viewers have to the second installment. And the expectations are higher, at least for me, since it's getting a second season they better do it better this time around.
