| Now this is the kind of ghibli film I can get behind. Hell Yeah My previous ghibli film in the ghibli marathon watch was kiki's delivery service. Both this and kiki was somewhat kind of lacking in plot department (But totoro plot was way more polished) . It was also more charming and enjoyable. Fantasy elements were lot more memorable. Characters were very likable. Overall a low 8 for me. |

| Good movie. I can see now why so many people reference it and praise not only the art style but more so the soundtrack. It sounds clean and soothing to the point where I must have already listened to it multiple times in different studying playlists around the web. There's also the usual fantasy component expected from most of Studio Ghibli's films and a heartwarming atmosphere that runs all throughout its course. Nevertheless, there's not much to talk about in terms of story or its characters. The movie doesn't go to depp with their development as it doesn't seem to be its objective. As a result, there are times where not much is happening on screen to the point where you might start to doze off or even fall asleep (that almost happened in my experience at the beginning). All in all, I'd say watch this with your family, friends and/or close partners, but don't go expecting an elaborate plot. PS: Totoro ladri, devolvé el paraguas gato. |

| Watched this like 6 months ago so i dont remember everything about it because most of it is forgettable. It's a good animated movie for children, can be enjoyed by all ages too, its a family movie, treat it as something similar to Disney movies. The art for its time was good but it still lacked explosive and energetic imagination which Ghibli managed to include in later movies, the themes about childrens way of thinking in the world were cool i guess but i never found myself caring so much for the characters and the music/sound area was mediocre. Overall its a solid watch. 7/10. |
| This is something everyone always talked about, but I never got around to watching myself. Since it's part of "A Summer Out of This World" Challenge I figured I'd go ahead and finally check it out. The dad in this is wild, lmao. The kids are over here freaking out about stuff being in their house and he's just like, "It's probably just gremlins. It's fine." "I've always wanted to live in a haunted house." I don't know why, but I just assumed their mom was dead. She's just in the hospital. It's good she isn't I suppose. While I'm generally not super into Ghibli films, you gotta appreciate the art, sound, and general atmosphere. As always they were quite good in this. Overall, I was an enjoyable watch. |

| Finally my first Hayao Miyazaki Studio Ghibli Movie. watching this because of Summer 2022 Challenges "A Summer Out of This World" stacks. wow the Animation, the Art aged so well and the Music was so good. they are really ahead of the time. It's Adorable, Magical and Heartwarming. 7/10 |

| Might be surprising but I'd never actually watched this before. I've seen a couple of other Ghibli films but I can see why this one is seen as such a classic, even now. It did a really good job of taking you on a such a small but magical journey with this family, thorough the use of smooth animation, that I thought was really chill and relaxing. From moving to a new mysterious house, to exploring the nature and environment around it, there really was a sense that what they were experiencing was something mystical. For a film to be able to create such a captivating story filled with emotion in such a small amount of time, just goes to show you that even now this wholesome film remains a classic. |

| The OP said it well. Very simple yet great movie. The animation was a joy to watch as you would expect from a prime Ghibli movie. Character movements full of life and detailed expressions really sold the story. The length also felt perfect. 8,5/10 |

| This can face even against Jujutsu Kaisen, and you won't even notice that this was animated in the 1980s. |
