Full Metal Alchemist and Big O when they came on adult swim were my first. The one that really got me into watching more was Xxxholic.
There are many unusual things in this world. Everyday events occur that cannot be explained. Bizarre phenomena that often go unnoticed because people close their eyes to what they don’t understand. But the truth of the matter is, there are many unusual things in this world. And people…. People are the most mysterious of them all.

My first anime was Naruto Shippuden, and I watched that before watching the prequel. I took interest in the art and got hooked after a few episodes.

Like many others the first anime I watched were DBZ, Pokemon, sailor moon, ect. But at the time I didn't know what anime even was, they were just shows like any other to me, so I don't really think those count as the shows that got me into anime.

The show that really propelled me into an anime watcher was FLCL, but I have to give a shout out to Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Big-O for peeking my interest enough to start paying attention.

Thank you Adult Swim.

Higurashi. If I never watched that, I don't think I would've loved anima like I do today.

I don't know. It was whatever was playing on Adult swim when I was a kid, and I just stuck with the genre. Inuyasha, FMA, Death Note, etc.

I watched Pokemon and dragon ball as a kid, but what really got me interested in anime was a couple months ago when I watched attack on Titan. Since then I've watched a lot of anime.
I didn't come here to play, I came to win. Now lets play.

Now that's actually a good question. Of course Pokemon/Digimon/DBZ were my first shows but I didn't really think of them as anime quite yet. I was just being exposed afterall, and by chance, and by myself initially no one to explain the difference to me. Even when we'd talk DBZ in school I'm not entirely sure I was aware of it as anime back then, but I might have been my memories are too vague. If not though, it had to be one of the shonen shows that aired on Toonami or adult swim Saturday around 2000/01. Maybe Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Kenshin or one of those I really can't recall for sure. I know by 2003 I was reading a few issues of the English Shonen Jump(I still have 2 from Summer of 04 but I had ones dating to 03 I'm almost positive) which is where I was introduced to Naruto and One Piece so by then I'm sure I was aware of anime as its own thing.

Hetalia. It certainly set my expectations for anime pretty low(I think I still rated it a 10 though). Fullmetal Alchemist was after that and that's when I saw what anime was capable of.

Pokemon was the first anime ever that I watched.
But Naruto was the one which I recognized to be an anime and pretty much introduced me to anime in general.

Bleach, this was the first anime I watched sub after it stopped airing on adult swim #submasterrace

Bleach was also the first anime to give me the pain of being able to marathon a couple hundred episodes and then having to wait for new ones every week

I was super into Pokemon, Sailor Moon and Ghibli films as a kid... When Pokemon came on netflix I decided to rewatch it. After that I decided to rewatch Inuyasha, which I'd seen episodes of as a kid on late-night cartoon networks. Inuyasha got me hooked, and made me realize the world of anime was larger than I'd thought... I looked for more, found The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya... found all the different kinds of anime there were out there... and the rest was history..

I used to watch anime casually when I was a kid.
But what sparked my interest for anime and also got me addicted to it is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It made me realize that there is more to anime than shounen and ecchi.

"And if, there were so many people in the world, there had to be someone living an interesting life that wasn't ordinary. I was sure of it. Why wasn't that person me?"

If not counting DB, which was for me like a cartoon, my first anime was Last Exile or Hellsing (don't remember which of those two).

Probably Angel Beats! DBZ made me want to check out other battle shonen anime (to fill the void kind of), but Angel Beats! made me want to check out all types of anime.

Well the first anime I saw was Ginga Nagareboshi Gin as a VHS when I was a kid. I had some proper nightmares about bears for a good while. Even when they had cut out half of the story and most of the important fight scenes to make it more suitable to kids. And the finniah dub, holy smokes it was terrible. Anyways despite all that I really did like it and at a later age I saw some of Pokemon and DBZ on tv.

A few years after that when I got internet I started with first and foremost, the uncut version of Ginga Nagareboshi Gin (And boy did it shock me, first of all by how much material they cut and how much I liked the uncut with the nostalgia factor added in) and then I think I watched Death Note and after that Fullmetal Alchemist and so on. So to sum it up, what really got me started was Ginga Nagareboshi Gin + Pokemon & DBZ.

I'd have to say my first encounter with anime would be the shows on the original Toonami, and Yu-Gi-Oh (I'm still trying to find it subbed).

I'd have to say that the series that got me really into anime would either have to be Haganai or Mondai-jitachi.

The first anime I've completed was R+V, I watched it for Mizore. I think I got into anime seriously (10+ episodes a day) after watching Trigun.

I watched a lot of anime on TV when I was a kid without knowing they were anime (Sailor Moon, Cardcaptors, Shaman King, Escaflowne) but it wasn't until I watching InuYasha - back when you could only watch it in three parts on Youtube - that I really got into watching anime.
