| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Pretty good episode. I really liked the episode was directed with all the action against the Gauna, especially that big boss. I wasn't surprised that they were having trouble against it. What an episode, wow. |

| Eighty thousand times larger!!! To use all those 48 new weapons. Seeing the 48 gardes formation was pretty neat. They should fire in that formation! Can't believe that happened to platoon 2. Benisuzume and those Hyggs cannon are way too deadly :O To put all their energy into that one shot. Wow, I actually wonder if the power is enough to cut through all those placenta! Why isn't this the mecha anime that has 24+ episode. That was quite the spot to leave it at. Pierce the heavens Gauna! |

| Yuhata's quick thinking to change Sidonia's trajectory by 0.5° using the thrusters was pretty impressive. Though, Gauna G542 is even more impressive to change its course immediately after Sidonia did so. Exterminatus is launched, targeting the dwarf planet. That circular formation was amazing! Why didn't Kunato join them? Would've loved to see more of his suffering. Nagate and Kobayashi's conversation was nice. Look at Nagate being all modest and stuttering to speak. Hahaha. Assasult on the G542 begins. Those Hyggs canons were quite dangerous! Even after a fair job in destroying the propulsion system of the Gauna, platoon 2 is annihilated soon after. Benisuzume seems to be the reason.. Those advisors in the emergency panels seems to have given up on Sidonia. Kunato being hopeless was great to see, btw. The Super Hyggs Particle should do the trick. Hopefully, team Nagate can defeat the Master Gauna now. Great episode. Awaiting on Nagate's epicness against Benisuzume next week. Izana seems to be in danger. :O |

| Intense episode. Man they weren't kidding that pilot survival chances are low lost pretty much the whole units out there. Darn another cliffhanger and the last ep is nearly upon us. I wonder how they going to wrap all this up? |

| Well damn no wonder that gauna was huge, it actually used a planet. It's really a miracle that humanity still hasn't been annihilated. When it's too good to be true, it probably is. Platoon 2: "We can do it!" Benisuzume: Nope. *proceeds to annihilate all 24 of them* Kunato still being a little bitch about Tsugumori lol. The whole world should just end? What a selfish prick. I have a feeling he's not done yet with his d-baggery though. |

| Damn, I swear Sidonia has yet to drop the ball when it comes to just sheer intense, edge of your seat action. Another great episode with loads of craziness. I wonder how this will all end. What's left of Platoon 1 is going to have to handle it all with a crazy ass Hoshijiro that wiped a whole platoon around them. Then you've got that HUGE missile soon to hit too.. All on Izana's first mission as a new pilot, this is going to be rough on her. I'm curious as to what Kunato will be doing. He went through a stage of anger and jealousy, but now it's just sheer depression. He still hold that jealousy, but he's just so depressing now, "The world should just end.. etc." He didn't even think about attaching his safety belt to anything. I think there's 3 choices left for him: try and take down Tanikaze again, die in the pathetic state he is in now or possibly redeem himself somehow in this next episode possibly. Who knows? |

| the mech combat in this anime is just great no need 4 lvl ups or power ups, even tho it mechs fighting aliens the story n combat has got that cold harshness fell 2 it action like that is just priceless |
| This was incredible and pumping So much tension and thrills build up with only 3/4 of the first platoon left over and the second one annihilated Missle, Hyggs cannon and those platoons firing up the dwarf planet with Gauna hive was awesome to follow The only downside was the screentime of Kunio Finale is coming next and it's such a shame it's going to end for now |

| Damn, just damn. Next episode please. 2 questions: Does anyone know how are the ratings/sales/predictions looking for this show? Any chances of season 2? Also, is it still faithful to manga or is it deviating so it'd have a meaningful ending? |

From what I can remember they been about 87 to 93 percent faithful to the manga. They rearranged a few scenes and cut some battles, but the core spirit of Sidonia has remained intact. |

They aren't going for original ending as this battle is taken from manga with some edits such as replacing an asteroid with dwarf planet covered in placenta where in manga the gauna just turned a crater on the asteroid into an engine, same as in anime. In the manga the entire first platoon also got wiped out by Benisuzume in that very same spot and manner. If you have read the manga, the episodes 11 and 12 is basically chapters 23-26. |

| I can't believe I just started watching this series when it only has one episode left... -.-; Yup, I marathoned it today. It's a pretty good series; I love sci-fis like these. Originally I was a little put off by the mecha tag though, to me mechas are normally horrendously dull and tedious. Thankfully the mecha cliché didn't seem to overrun the series like it normally does for others. Kobayashi is awesome - I love her mask! And Izana is pretty cool too. Asexual, huh? So it doesn't matter what gender you are, you can like them either way! XD Well, I just watched all 11 episodes. Good god I'm tired. |

It was at 7k a week ago and even higher now. That link is old. This show is selling well in Japan. Generally 3k is where you break even and they have more than doubled that. Plus CG is much easier to animate long term since they've already got the models and shit. All signs point to season 2. |
