According to the press release of TV Asahi (Oct 2nd), Crayon Shin-chan anime series will continue. TV Asahi had been discussing with the family of the manga author Usui Yoshito, who passed away last September. The president of TV Asahi said in a press conference held on September 29th that the anime producers will create new episodes referring to the original manga in the same way as Sazae-san.

A new movie of Crayon Shin-chan is scheduled to be premiered next Spring.

This is just a try to cash-in on his death, considering obviously now the ratings of that show will skyrocket.

It's good to see that they're continuing it even after Usui Yoshito's death...I'm sure it's what he would have wanted.

I remember watching this show as a kid.
I had no idea it was still ongoing after so long.
