Which Recording did you prefer?

Just found this video on youtube which compares the initial take and the one that they decided to go with in the final recording, of the infamous ending scene.
I think this is a very good example, on how a scene can take on a whole different context, depending on how a character says their lines.
I'm really split on which one I prefer though I'm leaning to the final take as its a bit more subdue and subtle performance imo. Also the initial take makes her sound a lot more yandere.

The final take is more open ended letting the viewer decide if Homura is evil or not. If she talked like the first take all the time it would be hard to defend her.

Let's just say I'm glad they didn't go with the first take.
I didn't notice a lot of differences, but some of her lines sounded twice as creepy in the first take.

Final take definitely sounds more like Homura.

First take sounds more like that snobby popular girl you see in every high school show. Her voice sounds softer and sweeter and that just makes her twisted words all the more aggravating.

While for 9:17 i prefer 1st take, overall, i like final recording more, 1st one make Homura sound like dominatrix.

Most definitely the final recording. Homura's actions and her character itself are meant to be ambiguous; something that makes us scratch our heads in wonder at what this girl is really thinking. If the first take was used, there's no doubt about it, buddy—she is fucking evil. Too bad. The end. Done.

Homura IS supposed to be unstable at that point. Even if she sounds crazy it doesnt change her reasons and actions. She almost transformed into a witch, cursed herself in order to protect Madoka and at the end she turned into some new being different than witches but still quite similar.
I find nothing wrong with the first take.
But I think the final matches the visuals better.(Or maybe is because I am more used to it)

Not that I disagree, but she sounds almost too crazy in the first take.

Maybe I have no problem because I compare her to a true witch, so no matter how crazy she sounds, she still seems quite sane to me...

1st Homura is so much more sinister.
I prefer the more subtle approach, that the second version took.

That was certainly interesting, but I'm gonna go with the final version.

The first take just doesn't feel right. Chiwa Saito doesn't really sound nor act like Homura. A lot of people see the twist as out of character for Homura (which I disagree with), but if they went with that take it would've came across as even more so. The final version was more subtle about it, and is played out more in line with how Homura would probably act and talk, leaving the viewer conflicted about her actions, while the first take is basically "yeah, she's gone nuts."

I kinda like the humming at the end, though. It's a nice idea, but again, the way it plays out makes her come across as too villainous.

It kinda reminds me of the difference between the anime version of Kyubey and the manga version. The anime version shows no expressions while the manga does, but I like the anime version better because it's more subtle and really leaves it up to the viewers to decide their feeling towards Kyubey, while the manga has him making psychotic faces that make it very clear that he's evil. I prefer the level of ambiguity presented in the final product.

First seems she is mad into's Yandere vibes.
While the final is truer to herself, and her goals, to make Madoka happy.

As someone who doesn't know Japanese, has this been subbed anywhere?

Is there any major dialogue differences between the two version?

It's been a while since I watched it, but as I recall there's no dialogue differences, it's just her delivery.
