Madam Red had done it Vincent Phantomhive but then with somebody else. The kid she was going to have could be Vincents but supposably ''he'' wasn't born yet as far as she knew. but maybe the child actually was born and got kidnapped in the hospital by the same people who kidnapped Ciel . since it would make Madam Red sad the doctors didnt tell her. Vincent Phantomhive was supposed to marry Madam Red but in the carrige accident since she wouldnt have kids ANYMORE to save her, AND the Phantomhive family had to continue. Vincent was with Ann's sister AKA the current Ciel's mom. The kidnapping and the house fire was on similar days in diffrent years. Ciel which is Madam Red's kid and the new Earl of Phantomgive AKA the current Ciel ended up in the same cage and founf out they were twins. YOU KNOW THE REST OF THE STORY probably from the rest of the Theory. |

Sure he has the branding, but there was no mark left from when Ciel was stabbed in his stomach on the altar. As we have seen in the green witch arc, Sebastian is not able to cure/heal everything, so one has to wonder why he has no wound if he was stabbed, if the two ciel theory is not real. However, I don't think that matters much anyway, as we see here he has no wound or blood on his front at all even while still in the kidnappers room, standing next to the pile of blood, with all of his other wounds still present. |

Ok so i read through all of this, which convinced me of this theory, and i cant remember if this was pointed out but in chapter 113 Lizzy is seen at ciels side If you notice the background it's different from the one our!Ciel is in. like at the tile's and the walls And later when Sebastian fights Lizzy she says she can't go back to 'that side' not his but that. At first I thought nothing of it but then i saw this theory and it got me thinking... or am i looking to much into it.. |

Thought I'd add what happened in chapter 126 in relation to the theory. First off, we see Ciel get into a carriage early on in the chapter. Pay close attention to what the carriage looks like. Then we see Soma greet someone at Ciel's London townhouse that he occupies. He says "Ohh! It's you!" As of now we don't know who this is, but based on the carriage it can't be our!Ciel as they are clearly different. Take a look at the shape and number of windows. Also, who else would Soma recognize and so readily let into the home besides Ciel himself? And of course it doesn't make sense for our!Ciel to shoot Soma either. So, based on Soma letting them inside in this way, real!Ciel might make sense. This is a bit iffy as Soma is pretty naturally trusting, but who knows. The only others I can imagine him possibly letting in are Sebastian, Lizzie, Sieglinde, Double Charles or maybe other members of the Phantom Five. But still, why would any of them shoot him? Anyone have any theories? The next important point is a picture Agni finds in the fireplace. It is a picture from Ciel's childhood that Ciel attempts to burn without letting anyone see. Why would he want it burned? There could be many reasons, but in relation to the theory it makes sense that he'd want his twin to go unseen. The biggest factor is how shocked Agni looks when he puts the pieces of the picture together. What else could Ciel possibly be hiding in that family photo? Hmmm. |

And of course they put our!Ciel in the same outfit as everyone else so it's harder to distinguish them right off the bat. |

the 2 ciel theory is a interesting one and to be honest it was the first thing that came into my mind after reading the chapter, however there's one thing that makes me really doubt the 'twin theory' and that's Souma's reaction; if it was Ciel or a ciel - look - alike who visited him, knowing Souma, he'd probably jump all over 'Ciel', which he didn't - he stayed rather calm (for Souma - standards) so that's when it doesn't add up anymore in my opinion... but maybe I just don't want it to be a twin/look alike, since that would be too obvious and I like being surprised ^^' |

This thread made me go back to continue reading after I dropped it long ago around the school arc. Nice theory. Very nice. I really like it and now I can't wait for the reveal. The latest chapter (126) with Agni's expression after seeing the burnt photo sent me chills... |

Maybe I'm too simple but I think you shouldn't take his words literally. For me, the sacrifice was his soul - that Sebastian will collect when the revenge is finished. What he "left behind" or we see him run through (a bloody ciel, Madam Red,etc) is "his old self": the defenceless kid, the happy and cheerful one. Now he is a person that decided to abandoned his "humanity", his emotions to fulfill his revenge. Sebastian was laughing because the situation + his words were amusing. Like the one with the light, he laughed because Ciel tries to appear all grown up but in the end he is only a child who needs someone to wait for him to fall asleep. |

In Soma's standards, the way he talked to the visitor is way too formal, and even if it really is Ciel's twin, Soma's first reaction will probably that he'll suddenly hug the twin, which he didn't. Lizzie is also out of the question because I think that his first reaction would have Agni to inform Ciel/Sebastian right away (though I don't know how he'll do that). |

I hate twin/evil twin plots. They're always too easy. And after the last chapters this theory is finally starting to make a little bit of sense. And that upsets me even more because, no one ever in the 100+ chapters of manga ever speaks of a brother. And it doesn't make sense that our!Ciel would take his brother identity. I mean, after everyone is dead he is the heir, it finally didn't made a difference that he was younger. So why lie? There's really no evidence of a twin in earlier chapters, only now it is starting to look like it,and it feels desperate, like "let's just pull something so the story evolves, those guys on the internet came up with this wild idea, let's do that" |

Honestly, I feel like people will attack me still but I don't like the twin theory. It's extra in my opinion, and I love Ciel so much even though it took me time to actually warm up to his character only need one. I haven't really read the manga so what's up with my baby Lizzie? Is she at her breaking point already? |

Wow, looks like we got some really interesting hints towards the two ciels theory in chapter 128. Alright so first off, Soma punches Ciel on sight as soon as he sees him. No hesitation whatsoever. This strengthens the idea that real!Ciel was there when Agni was killed very strongly. There are always other possibilities such as Soma being in a shocked state or thinking Ciel sent the killers, but since Ciel was focused on in his eye it really seems like he was blaming Ciel. He didn't even glance at Sebastian. Next is the writing on the wall I've seen people theorizing that the candy here is referring to the Phantomhive ring our!ciel was implied to have stolen from real!ciels stomach the night Sebastian was summoned. It's also worthy to note Ciel asking Sebastian if he's ever lied to him. Soma was holding a small piece of the burned picture from the fireplace that Agni slipped him. This leads Ciel back to his brother once more (as explained in one of my posts above the picture is likely one of him and his twin) and wants to make sure Sebastian didn't lie about killing real!Ciel. Since, if the two ciels theory is true, Sebastian took real!Ciels soul the night he was summoned. So, it looks like real!Ciel has risen from the dead like the other zombies, and maybe even given Ciel's blood from Bravat? Obviously they would have the same blood type. Can't wait to see where everything goes in the next chapter, since real!Ciel is making it very obvious to our!Ciel that he has returned. No wonder our!Ciel would be terrified. Also, more on the burned picture. Maybe Agni wanted Soma to know it wasn't Ciel that killed him, so he slipped him the picture. Doesn't seem like Soma looked at it though, since he punched Ciel like that. |

it'd be hilariously disappointing if the picture that Agni found was just a picture of Sebastian, Ciel's dog |

I fully support this theory. Without the use of manga/storyline proofs, I would like to highlight that the noble blood usually keep two children in the household. The oldest being the real heir, while the second one being the failsafe––in case something happens to the real heir. We could see this in the people ourCiel surrounded himself with. Vincent Phantomhive and Francis Midford Rachel and Angelina Edward Midford and Elizabeth Midford There's two peas in a pod, and ourCiel being the second one. It's highly probable that this would also apply to the Phantomhive family... 1. Not only in this panel we see realCiel without the bands of the eyepatch, when ourCiel with the bands when he wakes up. Lizzy might've found realCiel, that's why she doesn't want to return to that (ourCiel's) side. Since she vowed to protect "Ciel." She also figured out that ourCiel is not realCiel, that's why she wants to stay by realCiel's side. She's the star she was talking about. As for the blood transfusion patients, realCiel's might probably be one of the receivers. 2. Adding to the new arrival in the townhouse, Soma wouldn't just open the door for everyone. He also treated the person as a "friend" in which he only considers ourCiel his only friend. He acted to familiar with the hooded person, in which the other did not find it so comfortable. Thus when ourCiel found Soma, Soma tried to attack the person which attacked him. It couldn've been Sebastian, but no he chose ourCiel (since he probably had the same face as his attacker). 3. Going back to previous chapters, like what some of you mentioned, in Sebastian's clip, there's this: then in the recent chapters, we can see that in Ciel's room vandalism, the "candy" being the phantomhive ring, taken out of the stomach of realCiel. 4. I also bought the artbook, and looking at the burnt out photo of !ourCiel, i'm guessing that what Agni found first was realCiel's side. ourCiel's side of the photograph realCiel's side of the photograph (the photo that Agni found first in the fireplace and the piece that ourCiel found on the floor) The piece that ourCiel found must've been the side of realCiel, instead of his side. If you put the artbook's burnt out picture + the first piece that Agni found in the fire place, we could see that they both fit right? Notice how both images could fit side by side? Also the remaining pieces of that photo that Agni found might've been the combined photo of the "twins... ourCiel burned all family pictures, because it might've had proof that there were two children. He also didn't want to keep any signs of realCiel (except maybe the cemetery) the 1st panel includes 4 crosses, that could've been dedicated to the whole family. ourCiel's gaze first lands on realCiel's tombstone, then to his parents. 5. just in addition... Tanaka (being the butler of the Phantomhive family) must know the slight difference between ourCiel and realCiel... Tanaka must've called our twins as "young master", but he kind of hesitated to call out on ourCiel (since he might've been unsure which one survived)... |

add something for people who questions about madam's red past (the fault is on mistranslation) : basically there's a two babies (one with the servant and one is next to the rachel) so for people who didn't like the two ciel theory is basically because: mistranslation of many on eng part because translator is on belief there's only 1 ciel, or the matter of taste. that's all |

But yeah haha that ones kind of a stretch gotta admit. nah, I'm not thaaaaat flimsy xD either way since he probably couldn't have taken it from vincent's body/hand, this seems to be a possibily :) they might happen if the lord phantomhive "that is still with us" ends up being ciel's (in theory) brother :D ahhhhh, had completely forgotten about that xD well, it still is a bit of a stretch, though, yeah xD I'm kind of confused about the fencing scene too. If their were two ciels then why did ciel remember that moment if he wasn't engaged to Elizabeth? The way he talked was like it was his personal experience but does that mean he was engaged to Elizabeth and did know her? |

The majority of the chapter is in her point of view. And if that clue is to be believed and our!Ciel was sitting out, it makes sense he'd at least know about the conversation. But to be honest he's fibbed tons of things to act as if he knows something about the past he shouldn't- take the easter egg hunt for example. So here: I can totally see that being Ciel just going with it and acting as if he remembers. He even goes "What?! What do you mean by that?!" like he doesn't get it at all. |

idk for other people but for my case it's kinda necessary so people won't be too much in shock with the revealment or may people can dismiss it. beside the author had planned this since day 1. And in fact after new chapter came out many people were angry about this theory came true because they still deny that it not make sense at all. but I don't want to blame the translator either because they did work hard with it.. but i just believe they were interpret there's only 1 ciel because how unaware they are with the mangaka positioning of all the mystery. So it's like mangaka trying to tricked w us too. |

for people who quite denial toward ciel twin theory should see Yana's editor being interviewed: (aka the author had confirmed itself) ──原作では5月27日発売の23巻から「青の教団編」に突入します。 ──In the manga, the “Blue Sect arc” will start in vol. 23, which is going to be released on 27th May. Can you tell me more about any highlights? Kuroshitsuji is created as a story that has a vertical axis as well as a horizontal one. The horizontal axis consists of arcs that can be enjoyed as separate episodes, while the vertical axis is something that moves forward little by little throughout the series. For example, there is Sebastian’s and Ciel’s relationship that changes whenever an arc ends, or the story of Ciel’s past. In this arc, we’re planning to create a story in which said vertical axis moves forward a lot. So I’d be glad if people who felt a bit estranged from “Kuroshitsuji” took this chance and came back. However, we always change our mind a lot, so even though I told you all these things, it might turn out to be a completely different story… (lol) [source] Also Yana's comment on the blog of foreshadowing: [source] “What’s ‘foreshadowing’? Recently, I’ve often been asked when I started to drop hints and foreshadowings which are relevant to the main story (such as the main villain or the characters’ profiles). Roughly speaking, I’d say since the very first volume (lol) I started to emphasize those foreshadowing scenes in volume 3 or 4 though, namely after it was confirmed that I could continue drawing this manga series for another few arcs. There aren’t many hints in the first volume. I only dropped a few hints in the characters’ lines, in their outward appearance or in the background. My foreshadowing techniques at that time, like Lizzy’s shoes [*in ch.2], were so unnatural and poor that it makes me feel depressed, whenever I look back at them (lol). You can’t actually call it "foreshadowing”… Now, the reason why I did so [*note: Yana’s referring to the fact that she didn’t drop many hints in the early chapters] is that I don’t like foreshadowing and hints which are left unanswered in the end. I didn’t want the readers to pore over the hints too much and then get disappointed in the end like “Huh? What’s with all this foreshadowing?”. That’s why I planned to give [little] hints which readers don’t notice at first and therefore can be left unanswered [*note: in case Yana can’t draw the series to its originally planned ending], but at the same time those hints are supposed to make the readers go “Wow!”, once their meanings are revealed later in the story. I didn’t want the readers to worry too much about it, that’s why the hints are supposed to make people think “Huh? That was a bit weird… but who cares!” and continue reading. Those hints [regarding the main plot] don’t affect the ending of each arc, anyway. So… you don’t have to think about it too much… but if you are concerned, of course you can think about it as intensely as you want (lol) Just enjoy the story in the way you feel comfortable with. The meanings of all the hints are going to be revealed some day, anyway.“ So there's no way it just came out of nowhere and we all know yana had planned this since beginning. (oh yeah bonus of Yana's comment about real!ciel appearances.) “I found it very interesting that I received feedback like “He has a nice physique” or “He’s tall”, even though I used tracing and mirror-reversed copy for the new character who appeared in this month’s chapter and even set up the intensity of his screentone exactly the same as [our Ciel’s]. It seems the impression [readers get from him] makes him look taller. -Toboso” |
