On a more serious note, I love her character and her background made me sympathisize with her more than I ever could sumpathisize with Ein. "That" just came as a bonus that suit my fetish, I guess ;) |

| 1. Has an interesting character development and her relationship with Reiji is so turbulent that it is awesome 2. Does not emo over being an assassin (as some other peole do) but accepts it and still tries to live her life to the fullest 3. Knows what needs to be done to look cool. The movies tought her well 4. When first time played chapter 3 in VN, I shivered when she appeared in civilian einvorment, laughed how she brainraped Reiji, sympathised with her during the "Inner Beast" scene (VN exclusive) and was so happy to see her reconcile with Reiji 5. Has the Clock of Despair 6. First cute, later cool character design |

| Cal is easily my favorite character in Phantom, not necessarily because of her, but the implication she puts on Reiji. Her taking to him, her training, her eventual manipulation by Scythe, and her tragic end are an epitomical display of the first time Reiji's had to deal with the consequences of ruining someone's life. Any other situation where he was asked to take life, or do so of his own volition, he never had the first-row seat for how that affected the person, until Cal. It's depressing as hell, and the fact that his sub-par acceptance of that is probably my least favorite aspect of the show; he's so up his own ass about what he wants, it's unfair to her character.
