I didn't see this coming. But yeah, this is definitely good material for a movie. I don't know anything about the director though. Let's just wait and see...

There won't be a season 4. The anime covered pretty much most of the manga. I don't even see a point of a fourth season since I thought the ending was great for Bakuman 3.

Anyways, this looks kinda interesting. As a fan of Bakuman, I might even check this out or at least read a review of it when it comes out. I'm not a big fan of live action material though.

I haven't watch the 3rd season yet? Is the 3rd season the last? Or will there be a 4th season?

There are only 3 anime seasons currently. And according to what I've read, there doesn't seem to be any 4th season in production.

Wow what, dunno what to expect from this, it could be done beautifuly, it's a great movie material as said above, but it could also take a totally different route, and I really don't want them to ruin some awesome greatness that happens in the manga/anime.

Stil glad to see Takeshi Obata in the project, will definitely check this out.

Hey, doesn't Death Note, which is from the same author, have a live-action movie, too?

Anyway, yeah, I'm not watching the movie, but.... *runs off to watch the anime*

Umm. The third season adapted the last chapters of the manga and it's ending. There is nothing left to adapt for a 4th season.

I'm generally not on board for any live-action films based on manga/anime because the actors try too hard to imitate the characters, and the simple fact is that the type of over-the-top, stylized expressions that work for cartoon characters do NOT work for live acting, which always results in anime-to-live-action stuff feeling forced/awkward/overdone.

...However, this may be the one series whose plot and characters might lend themselves quite well to live-action. I'm tentatively excited.

AHHHHHHHH! THAT TOO!

I hope he can act the role of Eiji well. Otherwise, I.. I might be disappointed :(

Welp, Eiji is definitely my favorite character in the anime. He's so cool, weird (I'm going to clarify that. I mean that "weird" as a compliment. If you're weird, that means your different and unique. It's a good thing :) ), a good rival, and a good friend.

(Ahahaha, making a forum post in this news brings back nostalgic scenes of Bakuman. It makes me laugh. That was really a fun series.)

Team Fukuda!!

I just wish they could've used the voice actors as the real life versions... It feels wrong when the characters have completely different voices. And most actors in JP drama are horrible anyways, so it wouldn't be a problem if they can't act.

Theoretically I think this is a good series to make a live action film of, but given how long it is they'd have to cut out so much that I'm really sceptical anyway

I usually dislike live-action adaptations since it usually goes horribly most of the time. However, Bakuman would probably make good material for a live-action adaptation. The cast has to play their roles well of course since the main draw of Bakuman is the characters.

Sweet, I am not really a fan of live-action movies based on Anime or Manga because it just doesn't feel the same for me, but yeah, like most of you said, Bakuman makes good material for a live-action movie since it's just a story about two guys and their Manga ambition. I would love to see this, can't wait!! I already watched the 3 seasons of Anime and I really enjoyed it. I guess I should read the Manga soon.

That would be awesome, but Takeru Satou and Ryunosuke Kamiki are not that bad. Good to know that Takeshi Obata will participate.
