Many of the world's greatest musicians have sadly passed away leaving many of us (especially the younger generation) unable to ever witness the amazing spectacle of one of their shows live. Who do you most regret never being able to see?
For me it is either Jimi Hendrix or Freddie Mercury.

I would create a poll but it would be full of musicians I like and would not represent the diverse group of people here.

I wish I saw Elliott Smith, the Clash, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley. I had a chance to see the Wailers a few years back, but, being a poor student at the time, couldn't afford it :( Also, hoping to see Bad Brains someday. They rarely come to the UK so I dunno how likely that is for me

Interesting topic. Personally I really wish I could've seen Freddie Mercury live. Born just a couple of years too late.

Radiohead. It is one of my biggest aspirations, to see them live. Hopefully within a few years because I would be in a world of bliss during that experience.

john bonham would loved to have seen him let loose on a drum kit and the same goes for Keith Moon
Ritchie Valens a great singer and i loved la bamba but he left us to early
Johnny Cash and hank williams are two of the greatest country musicians of all times so who wouldn't want to see them
I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking "did he fire six shots or only five?" Now to tell you the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

That would be hide from X Japan. He has inspired me in ways I cannot imagine. To stand apart. Dare to be different. And to care a hang for what the society thinks!! Plus he had that charm and swag but an air of mystery around him which I think no other VK musician has now. And yeah, I was born too late (−_−;)Too fast to live, but too young to die hide!!

Others would be Claudio Abbado, claudio Arrau, Sarasate and Of course, Freddie mercury.

The man had a voice capable of making even me melt.

Thankfully, I got to see Ronnie James Dio for the first (and last) time right before he died.

And despite him still being alive and kicking, Jaki Liebezeit. I will never have the pleasure of seeing him play with Can. I would do anything to see him perform Halleluhwah live...

Can't be that good at appreciating music then. Not that i have any strong views on Sinatra one way or the other.

He said that Sinatra's voice was average. A friend of mine argued that Sinatra's band was the reason for his success.

I found them way too late, when trouble within the band was already reaching critical levels.

I had tickets to see them live in October 2001, but then 9/11 happened and the band never came (they claimed they got scared to set foot inside a plane). Shortly after, the band split up, and we all know what happened a few years later...

Beethoven. Thats the only one. Oh and Falco. He really had some very interesting and unique music.

I guess I am rather an exception since most of my most preferred types of music are rather new, there arent many bands/singers that have passed away. And I honestly dont like most of the famous old artists. Not saying theyre bad or anything its just not (fully) my taste. I mean stuff like Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, Freddy Mercury, The Beatles and whatnot is being praisen highly. You can crucify me now.

Depeche Mode!

When I'm with you baby, I go out of my head
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
All the things you do to me and everything you said
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough

We slip and slide as we fall in love
And I just can't seem to get enough of

We walk together, we're walking down the street
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough
Every time I think of you I know we have to meet
And I just can't get enough, I just can't get enough

It's getting hotter, it's a burning love
And I just can't seem to get enough of
