The manga was released September 2012 and is a monthly series so unless the author is involved I think we're getting anime only material by the 8th episode and an original ending too.

The anime is not an adaption of the manga, the manga and the anime are a a "collaborated media" (forgot the real term), both the manga and the anime should adapt the same story.

It was serialized in Sept 2012 and the anime was announced July 2013 so it's an adaptation, a multi media project is what your thinking of and is when both are announced simultaneously (two or more projects of the series with manga, anime, games, novel )

That does not mean it can't be a multi-media project, you seem to be confused.

By that logic everything that gets a anime and, games etc. is a multi media project, it sound redundant.
