Not much that interests me (except comeback CDs), but Salley's album title caught my eyes. Irish flower? interesting.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu taking two of the top three, now that's a surprise. But well deserved.

I will probably do the first spring estimates thread next week. Its a bit early, and it won't include any series that are not up on Amazon yet, or a series that went up after 13 April. Also a reminder that it will be rather inaccurate, but I'm curious as to how well the spring series are performing.

Happy for Nourin, I guess... Still disappointed that D-frag is at 14! It shouldjust switch positions with Chuunibyou. Why Japan, why? Takao is the best tsundere ever, Roka is a cutie, Funabori is the ideal wife; all of the otaku interests were supposed to be covered... Was it the art? It was still consistent imo, not the best you could get but it worked for a show whose main theme was comedy and it did that spectacularly.

Anyways, love to see ClariS doing well, that OP for Nisekoi is pretty good and I love her voice.

Hoozuki no Reitetsu is everywhere... (I am sort of annoyed at its success, wish D-frag could do that too)

Ah Arpeggio i am so glad it is doing so well, far better than anybody expected i doubt even the guys who produced it predicted would sell this much eh? lol sleeper hit at its finest. I hope this means we get to see more of it animated in the future.

hmm i really did not see any winter titles except witchcraft works so i got nothing to look forward too until the spring sales come out in June but i am bit surprised that Noragami sales are a bit low i thought it got a well eared reception any explanation on that?

Big second week for Arpeggio! What’s more, DVDs also ranked, putting it at 11,460. Only 10,192 left to 10k average over two volumes, 22,192 to 12k average. Hopefully Arpeggio makes it to the mid-year BD rankings, that would be a nice boost.

Yay for Rebellion adding 15,5k. To be honest I thought it would be below 15k. Total now - 163,582.

So, we have the first (and only) 10k seller in Winter.
Actually, it’s 15,441 for v1 and 11,754 for v2.
Accounting for v2 B BD not ranking (probably sold a bit below 1k) so excluding it from the formula, we get 18% drop, not bad at all.

Very glad about Hoozuki selling so well. Its varied sense of humour with tons of references to Japanese mythology and culture was right up my alley and the background art based on traditional Buddhist paintings was always a sight to behold.

I never expected a female focused series(Hoozuki) to have such a small v2 event-ticket drop.

Also nice to see that Madoka is still selling a lot. But its such a shame about Nourin, the v2 drop will really hurt it.

Well, technically it's a seinen title but yeah, it does seem quite popular with the female audience as well. I suspect one part of what makes it such a big seller is that it is quite accessible to all kind of demographics especially since it lacks the otaku-centric themes and humour that most anime getting released every season possess.

I'm glad about Hoozuki's success. We need more series like this. My fave from last season.

On another note, hopefully Mushishi will also sell this well.

Tsuki no Ookisa is a Naruto Shippuden OP not an ED in the first post.

Surprised it sold total that much.

Nogizaka46 is a popular mainstream music act, not just a seiyuu singing a theme song. That song would have sold that much if even it had nothing to do with Naruto.

Just something that's not a cute girls doing cute things, Kyoani and/or Shaft show as the top seller of a season. I'll tip my glass to that at the very least with the rest of you cause god knows when it'll ever happen again.

Well, this pleases me. Also nice to see Noragami up there.

Kinda curious to see how well Love Live CD singles will do in the next few weeks as well.

Whens the last time a CGDCT show topped the season?

By the way, a season with a Shaft or Kyoani show at the top happens all the time. Not that you will stop being paranoid about it. But I just wanted to point it out to others.

Indeed. Which was what, 4 years ago? Now that I think about it, that was also the last time kyoani topped a season.

Not that anybody cares what studio tops the season.

Well, this talk is interesting. I don't suppose anyone has the top selling shows of the last few season all on a nice little spreadsheet somewhere.

I looked at his site, and in the last 4.5 years, shaft topped the season 3 times, and kyoani once.

Oh so that's what it means. You learn something new every day, indeed.

And jmal's a freaking beast for keeping his stats so up-to-date. Kudos to you if you happen to come across this post, jmal. Keep it up, buddy.

Doesn't that Mekaku City Actors show have a massive fanbase looking to buy discounted discs? My moneys on that one though it has a lot of catching up to do obviously.

We already established that mekaku is not discounted, and neither will it be at the top of the season with its current rank.

Not that we expect you to actually do your own research.
