I know the FMA was made first however FMAB is more closer to the manga than FMA. Both are good, but I started FMA a while ago and it's hard for me to pick up which is frustrating since I've heard really good things about it. I tend to watch things in order in which they came out, but with this anime series, shoud I keep on chugging along FMA and then go to FMAB or should I just watch FMAB then go back to FMA if I'm interested?

Doesn't matter. It's recommended to start with FMA by a lot of people though. But if you hate it, there's no harm in watching FMAB instead. They have sorta similar beginnings, but the rest is completely different.

FMA then FMAB, A lot of the material that was in the first 20 or so episodes of FMAB felt a little rushed probably because the creators expected most viewers to have already seen FMA which covers that section a bit better.

It doesn't really matter.
In my case I watched Full Metal Alchemist first just because I thought at that time it was a prequel to Brotherhood.
You can still enjoy both, it doesn't matter the order you watch them.

Ah, alright. Then I'll just keep on going with FMA then, since I already watched a little bit of it.
