According to Shueisha, a new TV anime series titled "Aoi Bungaku (blue literature)" will start from October 10th. They will animated four Japanese classical literatures and the original character designs are done by manga authors Obata Takeshi, Kubo Tite and Konomi Takeshi.

Recently, Japanese classical literatures have been re-published with new cover illustrations drawn by manga authors. The illustrations boosted the sales of the books four to ten fold.

Cover illustrations of the classical literatures to be animated in the new series
"Ningen Shikkaku" (1948) drawn by Obata
"Kokoro" (1914) drawn by Obata
"Jigokuhen" (1918) drawn by Kubo
"Hashire Melos" (1940) drawn by Konomi

I've read Akutagawa's Jigokuhen iirc...looking forward to the series.

Will it, by any chance, be airing on Fuji TV "Noise" block?

"...our faces marked by toil, by deceptions, by success, by love; our weary eyes looking still, looking always, looking anxiously for something out of life, that while it is expected is already gone – has passed unseen, in a sigh, in a flash – together with the youth, with the strength, with the romance of illusions.” - Joseph Conrad ('Youth')

omg, they will actually animate Jigokuhen?.... That's a very twisted story....

Ningen Shikkaku and Kokoro will be interesting to watch....
bla bla bla
The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.
