I guess that depends on what you mean by "get".

I mean getting it the only way a guy who doesn't own a credit card and lives in a god-forsaken country where the only anime distributor only releases crap with bad subs can. (yeah, the subs are always out of sync and have bad spelling/grammar here and there, cuz they're written by foreigners who apparently tried to learn my native-language)

(deep breath)

I mean fansub or something like that.

Well, if you aren't big on downloading, I just watched the entirity of Gunbuster and am currently watching Diebuster on www.veoh.com.

@__@ I hope it's okay for me to suggest stuff like that tho.

just to let you know, the movie Gunbuster&Diebuster sucks big time. Not worth your time.

I'd expect so if it takes an entire hours worth of content out of the OVAs to make it a movie.

Hmm... well personally my major complaint with Gunbuster (but certainly not with Diebuster) was that it was often overly slow. I could see how an hour could be trimmed here and there (perhaps the whole bit about her one-episode boyfriend?).

Yeah I can see too, but Diebuster would be trimmed as well in this movie wouldn't it? I guess they could remove the early battles and character development but that'd destroy it...

Thread is old, but I found a US Blu-Ray release of Gunbuster, Diebuster, and both movies for $70. I cried when I saw it because I only had$65 :(.

I don't get the point of buying anime when u can just download it. Like i've got my collectione stored on dvds and blu-rays and it is MY PERSONAL collection, not some dvd-box which could be simply bought by anyone who has enough money.

Oh, btw, i think that both gunbuster & diebuster are cool and you if gunbuster might seem slow a bit, you should remember the year it's been made. For 1988 it was really great.
But for me they are just a prelude to the great Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

People like myself who like buying official releases, supporting the studio, and all the companies that make, release, and distribute the anime. So that these companies can continue to make more anime, if they don't profit from sales where do you think they're going to get their budget from?
