| I'm not really sure but searching for one of the specials that never got DvD version I ran into this: http://malikstudios.deviantart.com/journal/DBNA-Definitive-Canon-non-Canon-list-393555306 It says that this 1st special is Canon and unaltered. I haven't read the manga so I wouldn't know. Right know I'm re-watching the whole series. I'm in the Garlic Jr. saga..... it's awesome to watch everything again.... it's been more than 15 years since I watch it! |

| this version is infinitely better than minus and dbs broly Bardock, this & the history and trunks were absolutely intended to be canon to the anime (as apposed to the other movies which are all ofc non canon) I vaguely remember reading that tori liked toei Bardock too, although ofc the full story of the special isn't in the manga, and they turned the concept of Bardock into the story we got. I think what happened is either a issue of misdirection or misremembering. Since Tori is almost notorious for his poor memory at this point, however since dragon ball evolved far beyond his initial manga and has almost impossible amounts of content to keep up with, for even the most hardcore of fans...he can hardly be blamed. |
