I liked the arc but was a little disappointed in not seeing more of a romantic progression with tomoya and kotomi. He deserved a kiss from kotomi for cleaning her yard lol.

Why do I find everything lame until the last episode of the arc and then I just think it's beautiful and sad and can't stop crying? That's what happened with the Fuko arc to. I'm glad these episodes are so amazing but it annoys me that I only feel that in the end of the arc...

Aaahh I cried when Kotomi got the letter and her teddy bear :(! Kind of want her to end up with Tomoya now, rather than Nagisa! hmmm!

Baaawwwwwww! What a lovely bittersweet ending!

Although I'd have liked to see a little stills montage of the party or something, but I guess that'd've spoilt the feeling at the end!

So, what's up next? Hopefully, we might get a bit of Okazaki background. I think it's time!

Another tear-jerker, beautiful.

Too bad the had to ruin the mood for a moment with the ridiculous "pass the briefcase around the world" scene. That seemed a bit too far-fetched. Just hand it over to the local or national authorities already...

Lol so true! And the languages aren't accurate as well. The Chinese part sounded soo weird.

I wonder if Kotomi went to the States? hmm.

Well, I don't know about the comment above me, but this episode - no, this entire arc (once it got rolling, that is) has been an emotional rollercoaster ride for me. Maybe it's because I've had more time to get attached to the characters, but WOW did I find this to be tear-jerking gut punch (in a good way).

I'm starting to love this show. I'm also a bit intimidated; if the later arcs are supposed to get better and better I may not be able to handle it 0_0

So...apparently, the lawn in Kotomi's garden grows really fast. There was nothing green left after the gang removed the weeds, and then the lawn is suddenly there when Kotomi joins Okazaki. Furthermore I find it hard to believe that Okazaki simply forgot about what happened back then - I mean, he saw the fire and all I don't suppose he got alzheimer at the age of 17...? The most incredible thing of all is that the long lost suitcase just so happened to appear on Kotomi's birthday. It even travelled the entire world - wahaha 8D

This story arc was still touching, though and the series creates a really warm and gentle atmosphere. Looking forward to the next arc.

I might be wrong but I think that they may have removed the weed only from one side of the mansion. Like the main door of the house to the gateway.
Forgetting what happened when he was little is unlike, but he may not know that it was the same Kotomi or forgot the little girl's name at least before he saw her in her room again.
Suitcase issue is indeed hard to believe. The fact it was found a day or two before Kotomi's birthday can be coincidence, but travel around the world almost untouched all these years... that's not luck or coincidence, more like a small miracle. Good thing that while watching (at least for the first time) you don't focus on such details mainly because of the events and atmosphere of the show which make you believe that it actually may have happened.

Kotomi's arc still gets me every time. I love the story line and how they were once childhood friends then reunited years later. I'm too not a huge fan that Tomoya "couldn't remember" Kotomi from his childhood, but I think they did a good job of having Tomoya becoming friends with her all over again and being there for her when she needed it.

Though I do like who Tomoya picked in the end I only wish there was a Clannad: Another World, Kotomi's Chapter.

This episode... Although it's supposed to be a happy occasion, it depressed me a lot. I guess it's just Clannad's spirit, but still I can't help it...

I hope we'll get view on Nagisa at some point, because she was one of my favorite characters at the beginning of this anime, but now she's overshadowed by Kotomi. It's not like I don't like Kotomi - she became my favorite female character, but that's exactly what I'm talking about. Now Nagisa has lesser presence than even Kyou, and she gets the same role as Ryou... She totally lost her character, and we have yet to see view on Kyou and Tomoyo... Farewell, Nagisa much?

Kotomi's arc actually changed my perspective on her; I hated her at first but now ... not so much XD Although I don't think I LIKE her a lot, I'm merely indifferent now lol :P
So the whole deer thing was just a quote from a book? D: I feel let down somehow lol :P I don't see how the people knew there was a fire (he happened to be walking by and saw smoke maybe?) or why she was allowed to live alone all those years but meh :P
Nice when she got the teddy bear and letter from her parents :3 So they threw away their paper and stuff and only brought the teddy bear and letter? Erm, OK o_O I also don't get why it had to travel the world to get to her - yea it makes for a better story but you'd think they'd just ship it to Japan or something ... -_-" (ALSO SNARKY KOTOMI ... "WE ARE OUTSIDE" Exactly what I was thinking! Haha XD)
Nice to see how she's changed though, she's really different and much happier and she can INTERACT WITH PEOPLE NOW XD
Though her arc was shorter than Fuko's it was still good. Doesn't seem like a new girl arc next though, more Nagisa, basketball, Sunohara (which is always good) and summer uniforms? o_O Will they be able to get through the rest of the girls then? Hrm ...

I find this arc stretched kind of thin...

I mean, how did kotomi live as a single child from the age of (7ish, just a guess, not really paying attention) all the way to high school? Does Japan not have a Child Protective Services or something similar?

Then the scene of the traveling suitcase...

Other than that... mediocre arc

Appart from the fact, that this was totally unrealistic (how Kotomi, manages to keep her parents house? When they found time to write the letter during the pain crash?), this was quite nice.

I managed to predict correctly what was going to happen the moment Kotomi was going to open the suitcase. But that didn't stop me from almost tearing up when she read the note her parents left behind.

A beautiful ending to the Kotomi arc.

So I very much liked the end of this arc but I think some of the unrealistic things about it made me feel less emotion. It's fine that the suitcase did make it to Kotomi but the fact that it went through so many countries was a little too cheesy, even for me (and I usually like cheesy). The whole lawn respawning after one night was ridiculous too.

Liked that there was no romantic progression with Okazaki and Kotomi...would have ruined things IMO. Still, loved the overall message that Kotomi's parents were trying to tell her and it was nice to see their love for her over their work. Honestly, I think one has to be involved in the lifestyle of research to understand what it means to do that.

Sa te... more Nagisa please!

BTW It's kinda bullshit how the suitcase went to different countries, and how could they even translate Japanese.

I cried T__T when she opened the suitcase and the bear was there along with the letter, it was so sad but also so happy! I think what made it so happy was her friends supporting her all the way. Just hoping she doesn't get ignored for the rest of the show.
