After reading that ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION's WORLD WORLD WORLD was supposedly a very good album, I gave it a shot. I wasn't impressed or anything though, nothing outstanding for me.

Noir OST

I haven't had a chance to listen to the Vocal albums yet, but I love the first album with the full versions of the OP and ED, plus great songs like "Salva Nos", "Snow", "Whispering Hills", "Les Soldats" and much more. I need to listen to the second album some more before I can come up with an opinion. But there's a See-Saw song in there, which is nice.

Hell yeah! Kajiura Yuki ftw, the Noir soundtracks are awesome!

Kotoko - BLAZE / Sociometry

Very great! The full version of BLAZE is a very nice track and Sociometry just owns!

KOTOKO - Blaze/Sociometry singles

the full version of Blaze was pretty awesome, but Sociometry just sounded better than the Blaze, but both of them just win.

Miyazaki Ui - KURENAI

pretty nice OP song for night wizard. the song grew a lot on me, specially with the full version. i love the rhythm. Fates isnt a bad song either.

on a side note... i need to watch more anime, so i am more knowledgeable on singles... i am pretty late on getting new singles/albums...

Samurai Champloo OST (5 discs). Tried to get Haruhi from the same site but ended up with some sort of special CD instead of the OST (half the tracks were dramas and only two songs from the anime were on it =/)

GTA SA OST. All the songs fade out a bit before they should end; I think someone pried it out of the game's data files.

Ghosts by NIN. Haven't listened to it yet, just followed a DL link on a forum.

Thrice - The Alchemy Index: Volume 1 (Fire) and 2 (Water)

The first half of Thrice's Alchemy Index project. There's been mixed reviews, from critics and the fans. It's weird, I think the elements that make Thrice so great have been split in two. Fire has the heavier songs, while Water has the atmospheric songs. I think their songs are better when their styles are put together (back in the Vheissu days), and not separated.

But eh, in the end, I still love Fire and Water. A couple of the songs are average, but there are some spectacular songs that shine above the rest. Water has "Night Diving", a instrumental epic, and "The Arsonist" from the Fire disc is chaotic and a blast to listen to. I can still hear the creativity that Thrice put in that makes their hardcore rock music different than the rest. Their production is still pretty much top-notch. Damn, this is a hard album to review. Well, I still have time to keep listening, and then Earth and Air will come out.

I just finished listening to Pretty. Odd. for the first time, the new album by Panic At The Disco, previously known as Panic! At The Disco.

It feels like they lost something of their drive, the songs aren't as energetic as tracks tracks from the first album. I'm a bit disappointed right now, but I'll listen to it another time.

It was a decent album, definitely not one of their better ones though.

savage genius - Sora no Kotoba

Great album! I really liked savage genius, so I'll have to get ahold of some more of their albums.

While everyone's getting new stuff, I'm catching up with classics.

The Chemical Brothers - Exit Planet Dust
One of the best electronic albums of all time; The Chemical Brothers debut album. And I finally have it! While not as technical and complicated as Andy Hunter's (speaking of that guy, I should get his new album soon) stuff, but you've just got to love the big beats and howling sirens. 9/10

Dream Theater - Awake
It's a classic in the prog metal genre. Released all the way back in 94, this was apparently the time when DT were at their finest hour. I can see why; the darker tone and heavier style, deep lyrics and technical abilities of the band is amazing.
Undecided Score...9 or a 10...

A few days ago I picked up an anime off my On-Hold list, Solty Rei. I really liked the music so I decided to get the soundtrack. The Solty Rei OST 1 and OST 2 are great, different instruments. Rock, Jazz, Brass, balads, everything's there. I'm definitely keeping it.

Excellent album, wonderful music. This was one of the albums I've been looking forward to for quite some time, and I'm definitely not disappointed. Rather, the other way around, it was better than I expected!

Asian Kung-Fu Generation - World World World
People said this was amazing, and I hadn't listened to any AKFG stuff before so I gave it a shot. It disappointed me though, most songs sound the same and there is nothing outstanding about the album. Not a fan.

Boa - LOSE YOUR MIND (feat. Furukawa Yutaka)
Just a single I grabbed. Good stuff, typical Kwon Boa music.

Shigofumi - OST
Not the best soundtrack I know, but it's okay. The OST version of the ED 'Chain' is great. The other tracks are average.

MOSAIC.WAV - Amusement Pack
Was their first album, and I happened to come across a torrent. Songs are alright, they're a bit crazy and I'd prefer it if they wouldn't talk so much between the tracks. But I guess if you wanna do a little story like that, it can't be changed. Hope they'll make some more tracks.

Lucky Star - Character Song Vol.013 Kusakabe Misao [Kaoru Mizuhara]
Pretty funny, also I am a collector. :D

Rosario to Vampire Character Song 4 - Shirayuki Mizore [Kugimiya Rie]
I don't like the anime, I'm just a Kugi-sama fan. Song is alright, there are many, many others that sound much better. But that's not because of her usually sounding much younger when making this music.

Kawada Mami - SEED
Had to grab the first album too after getting SAVIA. It's good, the music is great but it doesn't reach the quality of SAVIA, it's not as rough as that one.

Listening to this now. One of the better j-pop albums/artists I've heard. Would be nice if she actually composed the music, but can't have everything I guess. Still sounds pretty sick.

Sevendust - Hope & Sorrow

Let me just say, this is the BEST LEAK that I have ever downloaded!
Even though I still considered them one of my favorite bands, this is the first album out of the past 3 that I can really honestly say is awesome. The guest spots by Mark Tremonti, Myles Kennedy, and Chris Daughtry are all excellent and definitely weren't just thrown on there for the hell of it.

Anyway, the album comes out this Tuesday. I've already pre-ordered it from Best Buy for the bonus tracks. A+

Honey And Clover Original Soundtrack

It was ok, I wasn't familiar with some of them seeing as the anime had mostly no bgms playing.

Honey and Clover COMPLETE BEST

Excellent. Had the OP's and ED's, along with the custom instrumentals that played as bgms during the show. Loved it.

Unlike my 2005 trip to Japan, Tower Records did not eat my wallet this time. Purchases this time around:
- "Miminari" Chatmonchy (was discounted...bit of a rarity in Japan)
- "Family Tree" Sakaki Izumi
- "POP RIDER" sodopp (saw them live at a pop-rock festival I attended in Osaka)
- "World World World" Asian Kung-fu Generation
- "Eizo Sakuhin-jun 4 Kan" (DVD) Asian Kung-fu Generation

....and a Koizumi Kyoko "donatsu ban" I picked up at a flea market in Himeji.

Andy Hunter - Life

Andy Hunter's second album from 2005, though it is more like an EP, since there are only 6 songs. But they're all pretty long. (6min+ length)

I'm happy to say that all 6 songs ("Come On", "Alive" and "To Life To Love" being the standout songs) are just as good as the songs the Christian DJ mixed up for his first album, Exodus. (9.5/10)

His new album "Colour" is out now, so I'll be trying to obtain the album sometime this month.

Armor For Sleep - Smile For Them
Good alternative rock, some songs are really nice but their album from 2005 entitled 'What To Do When You Are Dead' is said to be better, I'll be checking that out next. After hearing the song 'End Of The World' on the Transformers Soundtrack, I decide to give it a shot.

To be honest, I wasn't very excited about a completely instrumental album, but I bought it anyway because Trent's method of selling and distributing it is fucking awesome, and it's NIN. Ended up being pretty damn good; wasn't disappointed in the least.

Saltillo - Ganglion
One of the best trip-hop albums I've ever heard.

Boris - Smile (Japanese version)
Boris has grown on me a lot lately. Sick band, sick album.

Boris - Statement 7"
Only two songs, but both incredibly awesome.

Say Hi to Your Mom - Impeccable Blahs
lol-fi rock. I actually like this a lot.

Going to say what I said in the Hip Hop Head's club.

Krayzie Bone - Smoke On This

Overall, it was mediocre. There were some tracks that stood out, but the Cheek Da Freek songs were horrible and a lot of songs reused beats of other hip hop songs.

L'Arc~en~Ciel - DRINK IT DOWN
Pretty nice single, two good tracks are on it.

Ayumi Hamasaki - Mirrorcle World
The first track, Mirrorcle World, is awesome. A bit heavier than her usual stuff, I love it. The other tracks are only average though.

Shimamiya Eiko - Hikari Nadeshiko
I love Eiko, but I wish she'd make more tracks like the ones for the Higrashi series. Her other songs are rather calm. I like those too but it's a bit of a waste. Good album nonetheless.

Kosaka Riyu - Begin
Solid album, she's a great singer.

DragonForce - Valley Of The Damned
Didn't have that album yet, no outstanding tracks but the usual good stuff. I like it.

Lucky Star Character Song Vol.013 - Kusakabe Misao
For the sake of collecting. :D

Foo Fighers - The Colour And The Shape
Good stuff, but doesn't reach the quality of Echoes, Silence, Patience And Grace.

Foo Fighters - There Is Nothing Left To Lose
Better than TCATS, not as great as ESPAG but still great music.
