I'm sure there are lots of neets in the anime club.
If they're in a school club they mostly have to be students.

Well they could always just wander into the building, it isn't hard on some campuses.

The problem is how people waste time.
For instance, I have 8 hours of free time in which I can do almost everything but at the end I just waste half of it by searching for nothing in internet, opening and re-opening the same post of a forum discussion ecc.
Then, I advice you to use at the fullest your free time.
1 hour and some minutes will permit you to watch 3 episodes, and from 22:00 to 23:00 you probably have the capacity to do that,
Do you understand what I mean? vevn if you are full from 8:00 - 22:00 you are able to watch 5/6 ep by watching without stop till midnight and then you cna go sleep.

One decent time to watch anime is while you're eating.
That is if you actually have food at your dorm or wherever.

Sleep is of prime importance..You should get atleast 7hours of sound sleep till morning..Anime are irresistible especially the ones which really amaze you..

University is an important phase..This is about your professional life..So your studies are of prime importance..You can spare 1-1.30 hours on daily basis for anime..I would prefer watching on weekends..

Just invest 2-21/2 hours for studying daily and you will have ample of time for other activities..1st year is rather easy so chillax.

I always find time for anime even if university it's consuming me. I sleep a little less, and I reduce my social life to watch some episodes. I also watch anime on my phone. I don't know how but I find time for everything.

Maybe you have a problem of time management. I go to class 5 days a week but I still have more than enough time for all kinds of entertainment while getting good grades.

If your major is something hardcore like medicine or law you can't find time.

I like how you sound like you're complaining about socializing and making friends when doing those are probably better for you than watching anime though.

Haha, yeah but watching anime is definitely better for me. So far I'm doing an average job keeping up with my work, I think the only important thing I'm learning is how to manage my time.
Things are a bit more settled now, I've got time to stay in my room and do study/hobbies. Looking forward to the mid-trimester break, gonna go home, relax and enjoy as much anime and games as possible.

My academic workload itself didn't really cut anime out of my life, but devoting my free time to having a socially-healthy college social life pretty much made my anime-watching habits quickly evaporate. Not that it's a bad thing. I personally enjoy going out and doing things with friends much more than watching anime now, especially since my interests have changed a lot since coming to college, so I don't really feel like I'm missing out or anything. Whenever I'm sitting around being bored these days, I don't reach for anime or manga and instead just ask my friends to hang out. I'm also pretty involved with my extracurriculars and clubs, so I don't usually think to watch anime much anymore these days.

Honestly, haven't really had time. Went some pretty long stretches without reading/watching anything. Showed Madoka to my uni friends but other than that I haven't watched or read much over the school year itself compared to before entering college. But as for finding time, you just gotta weigh your priorities and decide how much time you can afford to spend on what. De-stressing and finding time for yourself is just as important as studying, but of course school comes first. (Well, actually your health is more important than school in my opinion, but we all have those long nights spent studying and neglecting sleep :P)
As for the loud people on your floor, where I'm from there are usually floor advisors of some kind who you can go to or call with a complaint for these sorts of things. (Unfortunately mine usually isn't in their room :P ) But I don't know if you have that at your school.

I'm not in university yet, but I'm very close to finishing school. I watch only a few episodes of anime a week since I have to do well to get into the university I want to. Plus with going out and doing other activities, I don't really have time to watch a marathon of anime anymore. It's not like you'll be in university forever, just try your best and enjoy what you can. :D

We all need a break from life.

Accept that you're not going to have as much free time to be up-to-date with everything. That's the first thing you need to realise especially if you actually plan on prioritising school. That being said, it is very possible to watch anime and whatnot, but you just need to manage your time efficiently is all. Everyone works differently though, so experiment and see what works best for you.

For me personally, I don't watch as much anime as I used to before uni. I'll marathon series on occasion during breaks, but there are far too many things I want to do that I've discovered since attending uni that anime isn't really what I enjoy as much.

Time management skills. You think you don't have time, but it depends on your priorities.

I am social, get decent grades, so on and still find time for video games, US TV shows, and anime.

Video games ? Really ? You gotta tell me your secret then because if there's one thing I just have no time to do since I've entered uni it's definitely play video games :/

I'm sure after a few weeks, you won't need to socialize as much anymore, and then you'll have time to watch anime. Of course, that doesn't mean you'd have as much as you used to. But anime is always there, right? You're not gonna be in uni for eternity. You'd definitely regret not paying more attention or getting your grades when you're out of uni, if you choose anime and manga over it.
It seems that many people have cut short on their studying time and sleeping time. I suggest you don't do either. Sleep is essential. Studies is your major priority, why else would you go to a university? You will certainly have a bit of free time, about an hour, maybe a couple. You could always utilize that time to watch anime.
Don't worry, you won't be under pressure the whole time in university, that is, there's always a bit of free time here and there to make the most of :)

I volunteer at a university anime club and we just screen anime there lol. I have no time to marathon anything but if I stay on top of new season anime constantly, then that's about 1-2 hours of anime a day. So by the time that season has ended I'd have finished 5+ different anime xD

That's YOUR simple truth. When it comes to our free time it's up to the individual to decide what's important to them.

It's about being conscious of your time. Even on my busiest days I have time for at least an episode or two. Sometimes that means multitasking. Watching shows while I cook, or in between my classes when my friends are not around.

Also instead of watching two episodes maybe I get in a half hour of video games.

You're not going to have time to marathon series many days or to sit down for hours and play games. You just get that bit of free time to do it. However it can be done. It's never going to be like when you were a kid. Unless you get rich that is or move back with your parents and they are lenient. That's life though.

Edit: Words and grammar.

My college isn't that hard and I only watch airing anime through school year (I watch the completed ones during vacations). So I can manage to watch it. After all, it's just like 1 hour or so per day. It's not that hard for me.

I do my homework between classes or as soon as possible and watch at night when i dont have any work to do. If you can manage your school life its not hard to find time for anime.

It's easy, you just study as much as you need to then devote the rest of your free time playing games and you only really need 4 hours of sleep.

When you manage your time wisely, you'll find some time to watch anime. I watch at least 2 hours on a good day. There will also be some time when things get cancelled then...

When I was in college, I always had free time almost every day except for 2-3 "heavy" weeks, 1 for mid-term period and 2 for last week of class and finals.

Free time in college depends on quite a few different factors, like your behavior/habits (ex. spend time exercising? how much sleep do you want/require? Do you procrastinate alot?), the caliber of your university , your social life, your program of study, if you want all As or your satisfied with As Bs and Cs in hard classes..

As for me, I usually had a good bit of free time. I went to a high-caliber research oriented university for undergrad, but my major (Psychology) was much less intensive than some other majors especially hard sciences that tend to be time consuming (like Chemistry, Biology, , Engineering, Physics, Math).

I wasn't very social in college for the most part (outside of anime club meetings and hanging out with suitmates/roommate occasionally) , so that also freed up a lot of time for me. Also I did not have a job during school.

So with all these factors in mind, I would finish a typical day of class at 2pm, knock out all of my schoolwork and studying by 7pm immediately after I get back to the dorm, then I have a solid 3-4 hours of pure free time before bed. I always took Fridays off, no schoolwork ever besides attending classes on Friday. I do schoolwork until 12pm or 2pm on Saturday and Sunday, and then I have a good 10hrs of free time on those days. Add all of that up I usually have around 40-45hrs of free time during a given school week (if its not one of the 3 "heavy" weeks I mentioned earlier). And you could also sneak in another 5-7 hrs of free time between classes too if I got all my assignments done during my designated study time on weekdays.

I constently had a lot of free time mostly because (1) No job (2) Not much social life (3) I was very very strict with my designated study periods, no procrastinating during them, so I usually get everything I need to done during these periods.

My grades were decent. I had mostly A's and B's, and a few C's in very difficult classes I had to get over with to graduate. I got into grad school.

I actually didn't watch a bunch of anime though. I played a number of RPGs too, watched movies, dicked around on the internet...

Reading manga (with mobile or laptop) at boring classes while giving a minimum attention just to react if teacher asks is also very helpful.
If it has solution, don't bother; and if it hasn't, why bothering?

I do a lot of multitasking so that I can have at least a little bit of time each day (reading manga on the bus to school, playing games on my DS on the way back, watching anime on my phone while I run on the treadmill and also while I am eating dinner, etc.). My roommate likes marathoning anime with me on Saturdays (when neither of us can be bothered to be productive), so that helps too
