Without internet, I'd be like a homeless.
I literally live here, it's my HOME! HUE

I was a really active internet user for 6-7 years until I moved house and had no internet for almost a year. I managed to get by and had a lot of time with my friends until I had access to a neighbour's WIFI... After my daily activities instead of wanting to hang out as I usually do, I instead have the urge to just go home and browse the net and do something that I haven't done in soooo lonnggg.

So my answer is yes and no.

Well I spend a few weeks every year in places with no internet connection and don't feel like a part of me is missing or something.

I don't know what would happen if I had to go without internet for years though. Probably would get used to it at some point.

Probably could live, but losing a major hobby and sanctuary of sorts would certainly suck.

I can live.

But it would be hard to adapt since the Internet's just so damn convenient.
Just need to find out how to quote this every time so I can dodge the stupid 30-character limit.

Can't. I'm too used to living with it. Don't touch a brother's Internet if you know what's good for you.

Needs in order of importance, why not having them could kill you, and how fast:

Clothing, hypothermia, a few hours
Water, dehydration, a few days
A place to sleep, lack of sleep, a few weeks
Food, malnourishment, a few months

So technically, yes I can live without internet. In fact I did for most of my childhood. But if we were to do another list, of wants, internet would certainly top that list, by far. It also tops the list of useful things, too.

Yes. Though, I would be sad without it. Still, all good things must come to an end eventually. Likely not in my life time, but the internet may be replaced by some VR World simulation software further down the road. Maybe Minority Report style.

I can, but i'd rather not. It would be boring. Although it's a good opportunity to do other hobbies and things, but I still rather have Internet.

I don't think so, but then people surprise themselves in situations where they have to do without.

Initially I'd probably be disappointed and somewhat bored without the interwebs, but with time I would learn to adjust.

Indeed. When forced to adapt, people usually do or at the very least, will find a mechanism to help then cope with what they've lost and with how their lives are currently.

Ya. Because the internet is filled with morons who try too hard to be funny and think it's cool to be offensive. There's enough of that shit in the real world.

what if your life support machine was operated via the internet and it was to either go 56k or not at all? tough choices. could you live on an internet life support machine that ran at 56kbps?

I'd tell that guy to get a life but that would create a paradox.

I'd probably have to resort to going "outside" and "exercise." No one wants to do that.

Of course I'd be able to live. I just have to learn to adapt and read actual books.

However, I feel like I wouldn't have gotten to where I am today without its ease of use and accessibility.
College would've been an absolute disaster for me.

Kind of sad to say but if I didn't have the internet I would still be able to live, but I would be at the peak of insanity.

internet does not equal anime.

Anyway, yes I could, though it would be a desolate existence.

Listen, everybody wants change, don't nobody want to change though
don't nobody want to pray, till they got something to pray for
now everybody's gonna die, but don't everybody live though

It would be a serious adjustment but I could do it. It would just be seriously difficult to communicate with certain people and research topics without basic internet. Interesting question though.
