'maeda' =roughly, 'in front' the title Tonari no Seki-kun, while the kanji of Seki (関) is different, the common word seki (席) means seat so tonari no seki is the next seat.. and when you include his given name, Toshinari (俊成), the first kanji means genius.. so putting Seki as the point of reference, we have Rumi's last name as Yokoi (横井), with yoko, meaning at the side; Maeda (前田), with mae, meaning at the front; during lab class, Gotou (後藤), the first kanji meaning at the back.. then we had Akiyasu Uzawa before which is pun for uzai (うざい), meaning annoying, and akiyasui (飽きやすい), meaning easily gets tired of stuff. we even had Rumi's friend Tomoka (友香).. |

| This show. It's just too much. I tried taking a short break from it, but I still couldn't get through a single episode without losing it to its intensity. The moment when the bear was thrown out the window, I was in stitches. It's too good. |
