Kyoto Newspaper reported that a keion (light music) live concert was held at the model school of K-ON! on August 1st. The keion club members of the neighboring high schools played the theme songs of K-ON! in the costumes of the anime.
The model school is the old building of Toyosato elementary school and there are about one hundred visitors a day. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Toyosato town launched an executive committee to develop the local industry taking advantage of the popularity of K-ON!. One of the classrooms of the school has been open to the public as "K-ON! Cafe" and the visitors left notes and drawings on the chalkboard.
Why do people insist on bashing things like this? It's a popular show, and this isn't an uncommon thing to happen in Japan where popular anime are concerned (Lucky Star Shrine, all those damned mobile phones, etc.). At least the school and district is taking advantage of it to make some money and hopefully improve things around the place. So shut up and stop bashing it.
I like the thought of it, I just wonder if they had the Mugi girl put on fake eyebrows XD
