Yup, watched them all. It sort of enhances the expectations for the moment the cycle breaks.
It was nerve-wrecking, but I sort of felt good at looking at the different clothes and small choice differences. Very artistic art, I should say.
I felt... just how many different swim suits are you supposed to have at home? Haruhi seemed to have an endless collection. Did they go shopping for swimsuits as well?
Besides, I would have liked to see some of the variations Nagato mentions (as in, other summer jobs that they did or seen the reason why there was no fish catching in those two repetitions). I also would have liked to see Kyon having stronger reactions of deja vu each episode, which was not really the case since episode 8 has almost the same strength as episode 3 or 4, except in the final parting. Also, the same explanation about the endless loop (except Nagato's count) could have been shortened... but this is just my personal opinion.
wait what? how many people watched the same thing 8 times!!! unbelievable!
i mean have you ppl rewatched some episode of some random anime 8 times?????
lol... i didn't watch them all and i'm happy for it but oh well xD
ohohoho~~ i watched them all! i figured that watching all this will make the ending worth it!! at the moment i stopped on episode 8. I'll be watching episode 9 tomorrow.OOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!! THE EXCITEMENT! XD

If you watched Star Trek: The Next Generation, you'd see just one episode where in the show, they repeated scenes because the crew was stuck in a time loop. Within just that one episode, the sequences were repeated about 5-6 times (maybe more), until it was resolved in the end.
In the case with Haruhi, it's not doable to have the time loops repeat within a 30-minute -- or even a 1 hour show. They literally had to dedicate whole episodes as single loops to get the point across.
It wasn't too much of a waste; I enjoyed the Kyon fan service. Anything involving him shirtless on a couch is A-okay in my book.

Indeed, four would have been the perfect episode number for this arc. Keep the first two episodes, change up the third a bit that way we can realize, "Oh shit, it's actually repeating!", and then God damn solve it the fourth one! Oh, and keep in the shirtless Kyon scenes.

Hells to the yes. At least the latter was only eight episodes of relative crap, as opposed to eighty.
