Well Bleach does start out slow but it gets better later.

Thinking about dropping Escaflowne. It just doesn't compare to the magic of the Anime.

I dropped Demon Flowers, mostly because I hated the art style, and the story didn't really grab me.

I have dropped a few more!
Black Cat - It was so bad I took it back to hastings....
Naruto - Enough said.
Fruits Basket - It got boring, for some reason I thought the anime was much better.
And I might possibly drop DN Angel XP

Yeah, Bleach is one of those mangas where you have to make yourself read the next volume unwillingly.

Meh. I can't even force myself to read the next manga. I don't want to spend money on something I have to force myself to read.

In other news, after reading volume eighteen of Fruits Basket and happening across some spoilers for the end of the series, I am debating weather or not to drop it. I kind of want to finish it since it was my second or third manga ever but then again, I don't know if I can stand such a cliched ending... =|

I guess Fruits Baskets is turning into one of those hit or miss series... It is one of my favorite series ever, so I'd have to encourage everyone to finish it xD But, what's one person's taste is not everyone else's, I suppose. Nothing about it felt cliched to me though.

My major complaint with the series was (in my opinion) the art quality degraded as the series went on. I also finished it online rather than buying Tokyopop's "version" of it. Maybe that's why I didn't find it boring at all?? I pretty much marathoned it xD

Well I'm not really bored with it, more or less I'm just angry at how everything ended up. The couples were all especially cliched and guh. I just don't know if I want to put my money into the rest of the series.

And really, Tokyopop doesn't have anything to do with my loss of interest. I'd rather read their "version" over a fan-tanslated one any day. xD But yeah. I'll probably finish it anyway. -shrugs-

No way. The anime doesn't compare to the greatest of the manga. Too many important things are left out of the anime.

That I consciously dropped, probably The Embalmer. I'd had it recommended to me, and it just sounded so much better before I actually read it.
When reading it I found the artwork annoying and didn't really care about any of the characters :|

True, true, but the manga just didn't really catch my interest... Maybe I'll read it online someday when I am really bored.

I just recently dropped Tsubasa, actually. It's just so much to keep up with. Yes, I want to know what happens, but I hate the chapter to chapter cliffhangers.

...so I'm just waiting for it to be completed.

No, Bleach starts out good and then gets progressively worse and worse.

Now each fight scene is like a microcosm of DBZ, there's no humor and any emotion the maganka tries to show between the character just seems artificial.

Agreed, I started up Naruto again for lolz but I ended up not being TOO extremely disappointed (ie, it wasn't that bad) but I don't think that'll be the case for Bleach so I'm holding off on it for now.

I think the last series I dropped would be Franken Fran, I don't think I can stomach anymore of it now that I think about it.

Urusei Yatsura. The main character is just way too retarded (and yes, I've seen many retarded protagonists before), it was just too painful to read. I read about 20 chapters to see if something even a little bit original/realistic happens, but alas, no

Really? You've got a Mirai Nikki avatar but you can't handle Franken Fran? I mean, I suppose Franken Fran is technically more gruesome than Mirai Nikki, but it doesn't really bother me because I don't care about any of the characters.

Honestly, I dig both series. Each has its strong points.

I might drop Urusei Yatsura. Lum is perhaps the most obnoxious manga character I have ever seen. It's also extremely long. Personally, I don't want to get into some crap about perverted misunderstandings and retarted characters..... I will read a couple more chapters and if it doesn't grab me, I'm through with it!
