| According to Oricon, the first album CD of K-ON! titled "Houkago Teatime" was sold 67,000 copies and ranked the top in the weekly album CD sales ranking. It's for the first time in Oricon's history that an anime character's CD wins the top in the weekly music CD ranking. The total sales of the previously released six single CDs have reached 600,000 copies. TBS released special guitar models for beginners reproducing Yui and Mio's guitars. Yui's guitar on TBS ishop Mio's bass on TBS ishop For girls and teenagers, the guitars are made of light material (NATO). Both of them are priced 29,800 yen ($320). The OP song of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 2 "Super Driver" was sold 21,000 copies and ranked the third in the weekly single CD ranking. Ref. | I don't remember K-ON having enough music to fill an album. Seems that the otakus and the Moe Lovers power the industry nowadays... Beck didnt reach the tops i bet... And had an awesome soundtrack. Way better for a musical anime then moe-K-On... \sigh... If this is what is selling, we will have even more Moe shows in the next seasons. |

LOL I don't believe this, they actually did it! And $320? xD At that price range you can get an "official" LP imitation (Epiphone) with a cherry sun burst just like Yui's. (Although everything costs more in Japan) And it won't have "light material" which is probably just a way to advertise cheaper material (less sound quality) as something good. |

| Hmmm just as expected. I've listened to the K-ON! soundtrack myself and it's very good. Also the opening and ending are just superb. The new Suzumiya Haruhi's opening it's nice to listen to. Well this anime has always had a good sountrack, "second" season couldn't be the exception; so no surprises here... |

It is like how some girls in Japan buy tons of copies of their favourite boy bands to support them. It's creepy, and thanks to that they go to no.1 on the oricon charts all the time. It is sad to see a fake band getting such high sales though. |
