Monster! I saw the first 15 episodes non-stop. Would've kept going but I had to go to bed to get up early for work.

Other series: Slayers, Hunter X Hunter, Yu Yu Hakusho, Gundam and Full Metal Alchemist.

Baccano!
Darker than BLACK (had me from the start)
Dennou Coil (something about it was very intriguing - I had this feeling there was something more to it...and I was right xD)
NANA
Ouran High School Host Club

And Claymore, if you count that - the first episode I saw wasn't episode 1 but somewhere halfway through the series with my school's anime club. But I was hooked instantly and went back on my own to watch it from beginning to end after xD

I'm probably missing a few others, but these are the ones I know for sure I was hooked on from episode 1.

Don't know why but I was a Chrome Shelled Regios addicted. I watched the whole series in 2 days. I wouldn't say it's as amazing as Elfen Lied or other animes you guys said but I couldn't stop watching... LOL

For people saying they were hooked on K-ON!, Kanon, and Clannad after one episode.... could you inform me why? I mean, K-ON! was a decent show and the other two are in my Top 50 All Time list, but I didn't see anything even remotely memorable or intriguing about the first episodes of those three.
My first novel, Kardia has been published! Click here to read!

None so far.
It usually takes about 3-5 episodes to get me hooked.

One that I'm currently watching has sort of had that effect on me, City Hunter. The episodes are very fun to watch and I often find myself watching 4 or 5 of them before I can stop.

Well one thing I've learned from this experience, is that a princess is still a princesss even when she is naked.

I can definitely say Clannad grabbed me from ep 1. I can't even begin to count the amount of times I've rewatched that ep. Whether it was because of Okazaki (I just like that type of character similar to Kyon and Yuuichi's), Sunohara or Akio (definitely one of the biggest reasons for me to rewatch that ep).......I somehow got attracted by that first ep. For me it was the best way to start a series. :3

Speaking of amazing first eps.........Cross Game started amazingly as well. I won't go too deep into this, but the people who've seen it know what I talk about. I'm looking forward to each new ep for that as well. :D

Cardcaptor Sakura
Claymore

Gundam Wing
Hellsing Ultimate

Honey and Clover - I remember insisting I would hate it, then when I watched it I think I fell in love with it around the same time Takemoto fell in love with Hagu. It was intense.

Full Moon wo Sagashite- I saw one episode and was struck by a madness. A madness that led me to buy the entire series on DVD without thinking. xD I don't regret it though, but that was weird.

Lovely Complex
Saikano
Skip Beat
Gakuen Alice (though this one would eventually disappoint me with its incompleteness)

Most anime it takes until the 2-5 episodes for me to fall in love, or even a second viewing.

For Ga Rei Zero, it wasn't really the entire episode, more like the last 4 minutes just make you defiantly want to watch episode 2.

Noir...among others. It's the series that made me pick up anime after GITS (all of it), of course. I still occassionally watch it . In English sometimes, for perverse, break my eardrum sense, reasons. Otherwise, It's always in Japanese.
