Tell us the exact instruments you play, & why you chose it.

I play the Piano. I chose it because it has a very large scale so basically with a Digital piano or a keyboard I can play any instrument I want, so to speak.
Not to mention how much I love the piano's sounds!

Ano...I play the piano^^

When I was little I didn't like this instrument, cuz my teacher was really strict and I mostly played pieces I didn't liked very much >___> ~gloomy face~
But now is different! I like the piano the most of all instruments, cuz it has a capacity as whole orkestra and...I dunno why, just like it<3

He tells me do 'this & that' then take a nap >=(

Yeah, it can go very low of the F clef & very high on the G clef ^_^

I play the piano as well. I love it. Especially now that I'm skilled enough to play "real" songs. I love getting to famous pieces and movie themes. :)

I know that accomplished feeling^^
Learning a skill that well you can improve without help is great!
I also play the piano, still do.
I started voice and guitar too, but I'm not good at either <3

I play the trombone. :3
I used to play piano from 1st to 3rd grade, but I didn't like it, so I switched to trombone in 4th grade to be in the school band. The reason I picked it was because I thought it looked funny XD But I'm still playing it today ^^

I play viola, violin and cello. When I started in orchestra about 8 years ago, my teacher kinda forced me and this other girl to play viola because we didn't have enough. Then I moved and switched schools, and in that school, I switched to cello. However, I switched back to viola because it was more challenging and I liked its somber and melancholy tone. Oh, yeah, and I'm self-taught in violin and can play it almost as well as I play the viola.

@HakuKakashi90: Does playing the Viola feel different from playing the Violin?

@Xzaxs: YES!!!!! When I first started learning the violin, it was a HUGE difference from the viola. The viola is about 4-5 inches more thick/long/wide and is considerably heavier than the violin. Also, the viola has a long neck, so I have to stretch my fingers out a lot more than I do on the violin. This is probably more factual than opinionated, but the violin is A LOT easier to play than viola. Violists also tend to have more bone/joint-related medical problems than violinists because of the size difference.

I thought they were basically the same, & just had a different range!

Thanks for the revelation =P

Hm, I play violin, and am planning to eventually learn to play other instruments in the violin family along with piano. Started when I was 7, and have been playing for five years. ;3 Chose it because most of my friends picking an instrument were also picking violin.

I play piano, oboe, flute, bassoon, saxophone, drums, and a little bit of guitar.

I fell in love with Franz Liszt's Liebestraume No.3 when I was two years old, and that's why I learned piano. Played flute because my cousin did, and played oboe in school band; decided to continue learning. The bassoon had a unique sound that I liked, and the rest of the instruments came after that.

Anyone a vocalist?

~ Piano
I had lessons before but I didn't feel like I was good enough so I quit. I play for fun now and I learn anime OST songs most of the time.

~ Voice
I sing! :) Tenor to Soprano 1. I'm in choir but my voice is much more suited for jazz music.

~ Woodwind [Clarinet, Tenor Sax]
My two main woodwinds. Clarinet is the only instrument I'm really good at. I play 3rd chair in my high school band and will be section leader next year~ Tenor Sax I learned for fun and I'm hoping to join jazz band with it.

~ Brass [Trumpet, Trombone]
Both I'm not very good at but I'm decent in trombone. I learned both under a year and played them in band before. :3

The piano and a little bit of guitar.

I learned the piano because the house I grew up in had an old Willis cabinet grand laying around and so like many others, I'm self taught. The guitar I learned because I took lessons, but there wasn't any real reason behind it.

I'm glad I've picked up some instruments, if only as a hobby, because I found it has really made me further appreciate music, especially classical.

I play both the piano and flute. I've played the piano since I was small because my parents wanted me to and then I picked up the flute because my sister played it and it turned out to be quite nice.
