At last... I was looking foward to this one for months, although I don't really know why...

Anyway, first ep. was interesting, although nothing overwhelming. It has a good innicial concept IMO. I want to see how it unfolds.
It's a pitty no renown seiyuu's performing the main characters... even though I did like Balsa's voice.
Also, the time zone, animation and character design reminded me a lot of Juuni Kokuki, I'm hoping this is a good sign. *nods*
And I loved that ending theme. *nods again*

Spear serviced, kekeke. Anyway, excellent scenery and animation, simple character design but well done. And the heroine's not a squeaky high schooler, who should I thank?

Seemed okay, I might as well watch it since it's on. I did really like the detail in the animation, I'm pretty sure this is Production IG but I haven't bothered checking the information page.

So, I'm not all that fond of the art style in many ways. Including the character design of the main character of the show.

It's also got this extreme slow and serious style. More on the serious than slow side.
But it's also very entertaining. You've got to be in the mood for it though.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

May I suggest changing your sales pitch? How about starting by saying the guy who directed ghost in the Shell SAC also made this.

Kenji Kamiyama and Production I.G back together again. That's an automatic must watch series in my book.

This episode was quite enjoyable, the animation is good on the eyes and the premise seems solid enough. The main character fights with a spear, not something seen everyday.

An excellent first episode I must say, nothing bad about it at all, I can expect good story and character development it seems from the prospects of the first episode.

Love the animation, the opening minutes really illustrated just how skilled it was, although some of the characters aren't as well done but that is a minute detail which can be overlooked.

The animation was shaky for me when the characters moved, but then it got more fluid and smoother after she saves the prince.

Very good first episode. This anime has lots of potentional. Great animation and art, as expected from Production I.G. It's interesting that the lead is a strong woman, and she fights with a spear, which is kinda rare.

What I like the most so far is definitely the music. Kawai Kenji is a favorite.

I am a little surprised how much I like this already. The animation is clean and well done (really like the eyes) and the music is good too. I don't like the opening all that much, but I really like the ending song.

Watched this on Crunchyroll and the font for the subtitles is that terrible yellow :(p

Really looking forward to where this is headed and what is really happening to the prince.

The art and animation are both wonderful, and the supposed main character, Balsa, seems just like the kind of lead I would like. :) So yeah, liking it thus far. The plot would seem typical but it's definitely too early to say -- seems like there may be a couple of twists lying in wait?

the animation is good, spear woman, we don't see that very much. Last time I saw that was in a neo geo fighting game lol. What is more interesting is that this time, it's the king who's trying to kill the prince and not the other way.

what the hell happened in the water ?

Oh my God, one episode and I am seriously in love with this anime. Something like that is really rare for me. Art is so beautiful and clear and I find music rather fitting. Also, Balsa is very interesting main character and really badass with her spear - pretty uncommon weapon of choice. Aaah, finaly something without moe elements. I´ve got a feeling I will enjoy it immensely.

Completely different in terms of setting and atmosphere in comparison to the recent and current animes i'm watching. Also awesome animation, nice and fluid, with the environments being highly detailed. Looking forward to the next episode :D

First episode, and I am already impressed by the atmosphere. The music, color palette, and character designs fit together perfectly. It really gives you a sense of what type of world they're in. I heard Balsa was a kickass female MC, and I love Production IG, as well as Kamiyama Kenji who directed one of my favorite anime Higashi no Eden (though I haven't watched GITS yet), and this doesn't disappoint, at least not in the first episode. And seriously, when the OP began, I knew it was going to be good. Production IG seems to always have one of the best OPs.

I remember first watching this on Adult Swim in 2008, I can still only vaguely remember bits of it but this is really taking me back. The atmosphere and mood of this series is fantastic and I'm already appreciating it leagues more than I would have years ago.

Wow, loved the first episode . . . This is a huge breath of fresh air after Witch Hunter Robing . . . Anyways, the series is pretty interesting, and I love the subtle more abstract designs like on the glasses or the swords.

This seems promising. The female lead is unique and the setting gives me a strong sense of wanderlust. I just hope the story doesn't get too convoluted like GITS SAC.

Good first episode. I can't wait to see what happens next!
