I don't know if I am the only one marathoning the show instead of watching it weekly, because in a marathon the show is pretty boring, and this is my second attempt at it after yesterday's attempt, which I stopped at the 7th episode. One thing I noticed is the constant use of the 'sad' soundtrack, it's so over-played I am tired of it, the 'badass' soundtracks too. Also not completely related, but I can never seem to marathon shows made by Madhouse.

The story is pretty boring/bland so far, but decent characters with decent development are barely making up for it, albeit stereotypical. Animation is very lackluster, lots of stills even during the games. I don't like Zaizen's character and his changes. There are also a lot of bits and pieces that I don't like. The baseball in this show seems to rely more on the 'cool' factor instead, the same with other Production I.G. recent sports series, Kuroko no Basket and Haikyuu. I have seen people who call this show and it's slow development more 'life-like' or normal, but to me all 3 shows are way too shoune-esque, which is why I prefer Baby Steps, which is of course a shounen, but way more normal, doesn't rely on the 'cool' shounen factor and holding up with it's good writing, and it doesn't have the backing of the fujoshi. The 3 shows by I.G. I mentioned also tend to have comedy when it wasn't necessary, with Haikyuu being the worst one at it (timing).

All said and done, I still like this show, but I have zero motivation to marathon it as of now.

This is a pretty sad episode :
-We find out Chris and Zaizen go way back to Junior High, where they both decide to part ways and meet each other at nationals. This will happen happen as they are both injured.
-The 3rd years who never got into first string after all their hard work for 3 years and two 1st years getting chosen instead for 1st string

A very nice final pitch by Eiju. I’m happy to see his making some decent progress.

This is the episode that makes this anime. This was such an emotional episode, I would've liked to see their battery in the nationals, oh well. 5/5 the best episode so far.

"There's only one thing we can do. We have to get stronger, so we can fight for those who can't!" I have goosebumps!

Also, Eijun is an idiot. We all know how amazing "Chris-senpai" is, but he is still in rehab so he can't be on the first-string. It isn't fair for his future athletic career if he plays it all away now. Man, I don't read any hentai but I can already imagine so many people making fanfic of Chris X Eijun now...... it sickens me

Amazing pitch and good to see Eijun and Haruichi chosen. On the other side its sad that this is the end of Highschool baseball for Chris who isn't completely healed yet and the other third-years.
