If we ever created A.I. robots that are indistinguishable from humans, should we give them rights or use them as modern slaves?

@ArabianLuffy Hmm, well I don't remember saying it will happens? I pretty much got the idea for this thread after watching the trailer for a science-fiction movie (which is stated in my OP). My thread quite literally start with "If" and not "When". Also, let me quote what I said in #16 since it seems you missed it:

Yes, androids that imitate humans will most probably remains stuff of science-fiction. I'm just having fun with hypothetical scenarios.
@fleurbleue Don't worry. I understand the scenario of "IF". However my reply generally is to everyone in this thread believing robots will have rights. We have enough global political problems to deal with, resources need to be carefully distributed.

instead of wasting metal, carbon and fiber on some stupid robot pipedream. I say the world needs a nuclear equipped walking battle tank. A METAL GEAR.

I think by that point it's possible humans with power will try to just get rid of all humans that refuse to be their slaves, as they only need a few humans and the rest can be robots and they can live as kings.
Whoever controls those robots would be able to control the world and not care about rights. Any human they don't need would be like a parasite to them, they don't need the humans for work either.
Those robots could aid with the coup d'état, so as soon as a power hungry leader comes up it's over for that country.
Grim prediction I know.

@henwens Oh! An army of robots? Imagine the cost to create one unit. The amount of natural recourses like steel that goes creating just one unit. All this to accomplish the ultimate goal I assume, The Golden One Million Population on earth.

While force might be the answer. Or spread some lab-made virus as the easy way to get rid of 8 or 9 billions people.

You and I won't live long to witness such reality, and even beyond our graves it won't happen. Not until something messes up natural resources. Fishes die. Cows, sheep, etc. Plants. Water. Then... governments, those with power and money might play the worst act in Satan's book.

If they're indistinguishable from humans, they will object to being used as slaves, since humans do that. If you want AI or robots which are used as slaves, it seems like basic common sense that you make them without any such objection.
