Yes, it's 2 different versions. The original FMA develop an entirely different storyline in most of it's second half and turns rather different compared to the newer one. A good thing is that the original will expand the beginning episodes and the side chapters from the manga more than Brotherhood. I watched the original after Brotherhood and ended up highly enjoying both of them.

Reviewing is not easy.
