| Three episodes were enough to be sure it's another overhyped shonen trash (poorly written, annoying characters, quite decent visually). Dialogue and internal thoughts of MPs are cringe af, I'd rather watch Magical Destroyers for some low quality entartainment. Current 8.4 MAL score is a joke. |
| Every episode has just been a banger after another. And I'm pretty sure he has a thing for that gal too. Emotions are important as much as fear is important. But moderation is always the key. And always making the best decision within those parameters. But damn this island is cool and creepy asf. |

| oh man... oh man. I thought the first episode was extremely cliche and boring but wow this show has completely twisted my initial expectations in just two episodes. The feudal Japanese aesthetic warped by Shinto fantasy and distorted by nearly cosmic levels of horror alone make for a bewitching, awesome experience, but it's bound together by meaningful (and, admittedly, typically Japanese melodramatic) backstories and a protagonist not motivated by traditional 仲間 tomfoolery but by a yearning for redemption and his powerful love for his wife. That's really the seal, here. Gabimaru is best boi contender in just 3 episodes. I love that he feels different from standard battle shounen protagonists. Binding his character arc to a love he wants to return to leaves so many storytelling opportunities we don't see in most shows of this ilk. Aesthetics be damned; on that alone I'm so excited to see where this goes. of course I'm equally excited to see where the horror-fantasy leads and how the disparate cast of characters bond and clash because I really wanna know more about some of these other fucks. truly this show has the ingredients to be an all-time great battle shounen. |

| Lots of twists this ep, hasn't been more than half a day and half the candidates are dead, and some of the people you didn't expect to die are dead already. Seems they're also on a hidden time limit with an Iwagakure death squad now in route to clear the slate if they don't find the elixir which spices things up. Ngl shit is starting to shape up into a battle royal treasure hunt, but honestly it's pretty interesting so i'll keep watching. Some of the design for the monsters are also really unique and creative. A lot of body horror in the design and really reminds me a lot of the designs for curses in jujutsu kaisen. A singular bite to cause such a deadly infection is brutal as well. Ngl, a lot of character development for 3 episodes. Both Gabimaru and Sagiri have come to new terms with themselves and one another. Sagiri understands she's rigid and flawed, but Gabimaru has taught her that its possible to overcome self flawse even if you're are a born killer. Gabimaru has come to terms with how him losing his edge isn't a show of becoming "weak" but him becoming human again and learning to accept his "true emotions". Both characters seem to have heavily leaned a lot on one another but it's an interesting dynamic since through being around each other, they can learn from one another on how to be better. Again, for 3 episodes i feel both characters (and plot) have changed marginally. The added death squad and number of deaths in half a day, as well as the speed of character development, all make me believe that the shows time frame is aiming to only take a handful of days, and the search for the elixir isn't going to be a month long search in the story. This can be good cus it means this show won't drag, but again, i'm worried stuff will start to feel rushed at points. |

| The attempt to build up some conflict and suspense doesn't work when he's basically immortal and she's actively trying to find a reason to be conflicted about her opinion of him :/ he could have just run away and leave her behind instead of engaging in battle when he sounded like he was in a hurry and trying to frame it against the others criminals' shenanigans just felt even more dull. The baby with those wide eye open was funny. |

| It was okay. Borderline disliked it. The relationship between our ninja hero and the naive and stubborn executioner girl is supposed to carry the story. Unfortunately, it's not as strong as it should be. She is too normal, plain. He is too unremarkable. Compare the duo with the duo in Katanagatari (not an unfair comparison for the anime overall, btw) and you'll see how unoriginal and ordinary the main characters in this anime are. There are more issues with the characters. While various reasons for personal flaws and motivations were shown (ahoy flashback info dump exposition) not enough reasons to actually like and accept the characters were given. I will not explain how important this is and why. Let him who know reap the fruits of this knowledge. Ironically, the most interesting characters shown so far are the head of the ninja village (an uncompromising machine on a mission, an archetype in flesh and blood), and, the wife of our ninja hero, who represents a genuine and believable contrast to that machine. I had hope for this anime after the first episode, but after three episodes it showed its hand. And with it, its limited potential. I am willing to be surprised (who doesn't like a good surprise) but this story is virtually dead already. |
| Lol, that battle monk got humbled real quick. Damn, the Asaemons don't give a fuck. They just care about getting the criminals' heads if they step outta line. Sagiri still needs to be cautious around Gabimaru. I don't think killing Sagiri would have done any good to him. Sagiri spoke just like Gabimaru's wife and reassured him of his kindness and emotions (or whatever is left of it) Dayummm. That white-haired Asaemon dude was laying his meat with that hot blonde chick. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME! (Idk why he killed her though. I mean banging her and not letting anyone know isn't really a breach of rules tbh) That giant dude straight-up ate his Asaemon. He won't be able to go back though. Also, if an Asaemon's sword doesn't work on some criminals, then what's the point of having them? They can kill them and then roam freely on the island or even try to swim away to somewhere safe I guess. These weird creatures' designs honestly look really cool. |

| Another fine episode. First of all that escalated quickly lol I mean the amount of deaths in such a short time. I was prepared that some of the bad boys would kill their guardian never thought it would be that easy for them though. Also, we got a bit of insight into how the 2 main chars are thinking and what brought them where they are now. Last .... what is wrong with this island D: What are those ... things? And were they truly human once? D: |
