| I had a realization that, at times, I'm being too hard on Nichijou. I mentioned in the past that this anime doesn't focus on individual scenario's enough, jumping from person to person for quick and often absurd jokes. I mostly criticized it for not doing what Cromartie does masterfully. But at that time I forgot that I didn't like Cromartie all that much when I first started it, and alike Cromartie, Nichijou seems to 'get good' due to it's cast being expanded on. The jokes can be absurd like the deer fight which I honestly wasn't a big fan of(although I did get a chuckle out of Yuuko's respect for the fighters), but often they derive from the characters relationships with each other. The professor household jokes are a prime example of this with the jokes literally just being the humorous interplay among a 9 year old, a cute robot, and a cat who tries to be more mature than he actually is. Another example are the great Mai and Yuuko jokes which are amply expanded when you understand the two's relationship. Or even the competitive drawing with Yuuko and Mio. The point is, like all the jokes I mentioned above, Nichijou seems like it needs some time to develop its cast but when it does it's hilarious. I must say that perhaps it would be overall better if we had 5 or 10 minute episodes instead of the 24 it is now and instead of the barrage of jokes we get every episode, we got rather one long joke like the cockroach scene, and a couple short but good ones. I certainly feel a shorter format that focused on the more meaningful scenes would play out better. |

| No one can even put into the words the pain I've felt when this curry pot feel down, it was like getting all your organs ripped from your body in an instant. Shark-en-pon is the cutest thing KyoAni has ever put into anime alongside sleeping Kanna and crying Azusa. Asserting dominance by doing a BACKBREAKER on a deer, I approve, this is hilarious, truly "daily life" for sure. 5/5 |
| this episode with yukko's random haikus wow i love her. the whole camping trip with miyo and yukko spilling the food and mai's 'r e l e a s e,' i already watched a clip of that on yt but still laughed as much as i did first time watching it. |
| This episode made me laugh the hardest so far! Non stop laughs on this one! The deer scene with the principal was amazing, and the roach with the professor and Nano was something I could relate to, and finally the curry camping trip was funny as hell. |

| The animation in this episode was the best it's been so far, I thought the little CGI clip before they started playing the 10yen game looked really cute, and the whole camping sequence was beautifully displayed as well. It's so fun to see all of the girls interact with each other, and I sometimes wonder if scenes like the deer-wrestling scene are all in their imaginations, or if they do actually live in a silly universe like this. I don't know if it will happen, but I would like to see Professor and Nano interact with the other cast! I imagine the Professor would get along well with Yuuko. |
