| Was much better than I prepared myself for, will watch the continuation if they decide to make one. I bet the low score is due to a bunch of people calling it generic and cliche, which in my case is not a bad thing at all. |

| Series isn't that bad. Ppls just had high expectations and how the series is based on Romeo/Juilet style makes people think it's too generic and "already been done". Overall it's pretty interesting to watch, but there could had been more to it. I wouldn't mind a second season, since I am pretty interested in seeing where the story actually ends up, especially with all the mysteries they piled up at the last episode... ___ ___ ___ Also, why do I get the feeling that in the end when Queen question Elletear... makes me think Elletear is actually already dead... IE: Elletear already got captured by the Emperor and is used as the "Astral Spirit" that powers the "Object", which when our MCs destroyed the Spirit, they also destroyed Elletear. Other thing, apparently the Emperor isn't a Human to begin with... basically the regular Humans are ruled by someone with magical power... probably why the Emperor and the crazy mage dude knows each other and addresses each other friendly like they're best friends. AKA, the crazy mage dude probably steals pureblood spirits and divide the spirits and give some to the Emperor. Afterall, both wants to literally destroy and kill off all purebloods so they can become the top rulers. |

| This isn't masterpiece but this is really decent for an LN adaptation, not bad at all, the animation and story is better than the usual mediocre LN adaptations. I'm glad I stopped trusting reviewers or MAL score before I tried this. The two sides concept is enjoyable, although Mismis is annoying, ugh. I have a little faith this will have anime sequel but I would totally watch the 2nd season if any. |

TBH, there are way more garbage shows ranked much higher, so really this anime adaptation is not that bad, is what I would like to say, but I still have to finish watching, since I m mostly following the LN. What got my attention was the concept of the plot and the beautiful LN art design, but I guess for most people, they are tired of such concepts. |

| Presumably the job of this series was to get people to want to read the source material... and I don't think it succeeded in that goal. Introducing a love triangle at the last moment is a pure desperation move and doesn't bode well for future developments. The only praiseworthy thing about it is that they didn't completely cheap-out on the action animation. |

| Besides the Founder appearing, Salinger escaping, the Astral spirit fight and a lot of 'coincidental' romantic encounters between Iska and Alice, there wasn't much development. Characters felt bland since not much is known on the reason behind their motivations or their past. Kinda hoped in this 'Romeo and Juliet' story for something big to happen, but alas, no elope scene. |

| I m the first to admit the problems of this series, and by that, I mean the LN, but the two things that I enjoyed deeply about it are still somewhat stuff I looked forward and was NOT disappointed about this adaptation, despite its shortcomings. Mainly the art which was really good, loved the designs and how they imagined the setting of the LN, and of course, Alice x Iska, and just like the LN, I think Sisbell was a damm fine addiction, too bad this was an LN advertisement because the volume after this one is when things start to get more serious. Music wasn't bad either, enjoyed the OP and the ED in particular, and again, just like the LN, I do think the setting has a lot of potentials if only the writer was a bit better, but you really can't expect much from what he has done in past works, then again, the continuation of this arc, that starting LN vol5 gets progressively more and more interesting, with the escalating role of Elleatear. 7.5/10 = 8 Sugram22 said: New S2 PLZ unless endgame is tragic like Romeo and Juliet i don't like stories like that, then i am not interested in seeing what's about to come Unlikely, the tone of the LN is far from tragic, MC will either end with Alice, or it will have an open ending. akihikosama said: Was much better than I prepared myself for, will watch the continuation if they decide to make one. Probably, and cliche stuff can be enjoyable, if you are not watching the same stuff every time, like said, picking those generics shows every single season! But you have to agree that the best part of the show was Iska x Alice, I dunno how can people be interested or invested in the rest of the characters (aside from some like Kissing or Salinder), Sisbell was moe, but when the focus was to the rest of Iska squad, that is when it gets really boring. |

| To me, there are two types of bad. The bad that comes from a show that is so badly put together that you feel a type of disgusting sensation. And then there’s this show. It’s bad but you don’t mind watching it even if it has barely any savour, is pretty bad when it comes to plot, storyline, characters, etc, but its bad in a special way that is both bearable and almost relaxing. To sum my experience, this was a very bland anime with poor flavours but it wasn’t disgusting. Just felt like saying this |
| Empire is the dictator in here meanwhile The magician want to peace but not really. This politic keep going up. I like the fight and Iska seems not into harem or idk. The duet is nice, I like to see Alice like that she is the real kanojo. Can't wait for the next season. |

| Most of it was boring but still, some of them are quite enjoyable. This episode made me learn something, the animation was dropping like crazy. There were many inconsistencies of the scenes that needed some more emphasis in every opportunity I could be hyped at, unfortunately, it didn't go well as planned and they simply trashed the animation. One more thing, this series has yet to come to any conclusion and many new characters have just been introduced. IDK why but I think some of the supporting characters should have been introduced in the early stages in the animation... but weren't. I guess a sequel is needed and I do hope they fix the animation when the time arrives... |
| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |
| Finally it's over. It started off quite wellk, even though it was generic from the very beginning. But then the world slowly fell apart when actions did not have any consequences. You kidnap an imperial soldier in the middle of a neutral city? No consequences. You try to kill the guest of your master? No consequences. Did not help that the male lead has the personality and the female lead has the intelligence of a brick. 4/10 |

| As we wrap things up... The story yeets itself off a cliff. It was an enjoyable run. So, I'm glad I got through it right before season two; in a few weeks. However, it sure must have been tough to wait the four years to get here. If you are anime only that is. Seeing as how this episode was not a conclusive. Or even delimiting. Part to two cours with a modest delay. Nope, it is simply not really an acceptable manner to end your start to a series. I can only assume extraneous circumstances led us here. Either way I very much look forward to what is next. Especially that it is weeks away. |

| It ended how I remembered it ending, basically being read the LN bait which were my exact words when this ended in 2020 on discord lol, that didn’t sit well with me, especially with my thoughts on the show in general, but on this rewatch it’s a bit different, especially since Season 2 is a little over a week away at the time I’m writing this. I’d say this time around I liked the show quite a bit more, back then I said that this show was more like a 5/10 but I gave it a 7 for the enjoyment I had, but now I’d say it’s more like a 7 not counting personal enjoyment, and I think I could even go to the 8, but that’s probably the nostalgia talking and the Season 2 hype lol. And this final episode in particular was an exciting finale, Sisbell got ate by the robot/not robot and had to be saved by another great collaborative effort from Iska and Alice, you’d think by the way they fight together that they’ve been together for years lol, and after that treat everyone is reunited along with what I mentioned before, being the read the LN bait, which I guess isn’t anymore since Season 2 is coming lol. The fight with Object wasn’t my favorite fight of the show, but it was a pretty good place to end on. Oh and also Sisbell likes Iska now, so we have a Sovereignty sister love triangle now lol, Iska can’t stop bagging witches, or should I say Rizzka which rizz wasn’t a thing in 2020, but a great nickname now. And that’s it for my 2nd rewatch of a 2020 show getting a Season 2 this summer, and both were absolutely needed because there’s no way I was going to understand the upcoming Season 2s otherwise, 2020 has just been too long ago although I don’t like to admit it lol. And this was a great rewatch, my opinion did improve on the show and it was pretty nostalgic as well, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t notice the problems it has, a big one that keeps standing out to me is Mismis being a captain despite never showing how she got the rank (no offense to her because I do like her lol), and also that the conflict never seemed as serious as they say it is, or let’s not forget when Mismis outran dudes with guns and magic attacks lol, there’s probably more I could list but these were my main problems at least, and despite all this I did have a good time. And looking at my posts back then, I was quite fond of Rin and once again I do like her, she had some rough moments but grew on me over time, hope to see more of her in Season 2. And I gotta mention the OP and ED one last time, both great songs and I hope Season 2 can hold a candle to them, the ED I think will be especially hard to beat but I got an open mind, I’m excited to hear what we get. And with that I now wait for the next season, which isn’t long at all lol, and perhaps I’ll return to 2020 again sometime soon, a weird year for the world but I watched so many good shows that year, a nostalgic one indeed. |
| Sisbell is just annoying. What does she even mean by, "You said you couldn't be my ally"? He never said he didn’t want to come with her and to stay in the Empire to find a way to bring peace. And when he said he wouldn’t hand her over to that robot or the Masked Lord, she seriously responded like, "Oh~ if you’re going to be this kind to me, I can’t help but get wet with need." Like, seriously? This show is so badly written. And of course, Jhin somehow just knew where the recorder was when he shot the Masked Lord. And as expected, the show had to pull the convenient card that Mismis has the power to nullify others’ magic. What do you even call this when only a chosen few from the protagonist’s inner circle get powered up? Let’s not even talk about that ridiculous camera angle and the jump Iska makes while holding Sisbell. The dude literally jumps forward, and somehow the massive beam misses him? How does that even work? A beam that flattened everything somehow doesn’t hit them—even though they were literally right in front of that robot? And I still don’t understand why Aliceliese acts like Sisbell doesn’t know about her connection to Iska, when she clearly mentioned in the previous episode that Sisbell might’ve overheard her and Rin talking about him using her abilities. It was obvious Elletear was suspicious, but now the question is: is she even the real Elletear? The only thing this show had going for it was the early episodes with Aliceliese and Iska—their interactions and the idea of fate drawing them together. But that was all it had. The overall plot is poorly written, with events conveniently playing out in Iska’s favor. I’m honestly struggling to decide if I should even watch the next season. The story is trash, and the animation is average at best. |
