Oh good, Saki is back in her real body.

I knew L-elf wouldn't get a nice greeting from his former comrades though. Looks like Q-vier really wanted to take his life there. Pretty intense episode overall. Poor L-Elf ;.;

I have to admit that Q-vier showed more rage than usual. Lisotte and L-Elf's reunion wasn't exactly the happiest either or this episode :(

So Elf-san, or rather Michael, likes her enough to do that much for her. Multiple battles at the same time. Nice that KajiKaji's character getting a bit of "major" screen time. Learning that she's not human, but is like Valvrave's soul. She used up her power that her memory is lost...

1st season ED 1 as inserted song!

Oh, new ED.

So the leak in the last week of a screenshot of L-Elf holding Lieselotte's body is authentic after all !
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Well, since the shocking episode about Saki was leaked in 1st season, people expected Sunrise to watch and manage its subcontractor a lot tighter, which is perhaps one reason why we have not seen leak since then. So the leak this time is a slight surprise. It means such things always happen to a Sunrise show though...

Well that was a good episode! Albeit a sad one, so far no character really has a chance at happiness, I hope at least someone ends up happy some how... Liselotte wasn't in the series a whole lot, but I'd like to see how her death with affect L-Elf...

You predicted Lieselotte basically pulling a Marie/ Four Murusame? I figured L-Elf would fail before the finish line cause Sunrise loves feeding on the blood of the peacemaker but I didn't really see any of that coming. Anyway that means that not all Magius are on board with the whole feed on Earth thing. Where does that leave the almost childlike Pino in particular.

Really awesome ep!! That was intense as hell!!!

NOOOO Liselotte!! TT^TT...I can totally relate to L-Elf's feelings of falling in love with her although he only spent less than 1 hr with her. She's so lovable. And beautiful too.
RIP T^T...Poor Michael when he found out she was the one outside. Let's see how he'll act from here on since his goal in life is nothing now?

Well, nice knowing a bit more about the Magius.

L-Elf was totally friggin BA defeating everyone in his way while he already half dead! Damn this guy is BA!!!! Respect to him.

Poor Saki, It seems they totally forgot about her?? I wonder what A-drei will do to her?

Nxt ep...Kamitsuki revealed? I wonder how Shouko will react to Marie's death and all the shit that went on.

Well, given the spoiler picture in last week's thread, I wasn't all that surprised to see Lieselotte die this episode, but still. Why, Sunrise? And man I don't understand why L-Elf let Q-vier live. Clearly Q-vier was going to be a future obstacle -- and him going easy on Q-vier essentially caused Lieselotte's death. Good episode though. I liked how Haruto talked Lieselotte into believing L-Elf, how L-Elf was ready to give up his own life for Lieselotte, and how they doubled back to save L-Elf. Lieselotte didn't have to die, but I guess this series hasn't ever cared (think glasses girl first season).

While all the attention was (rightfully) on L-Elf and Lieselotte, does anyone realize that Saki is royally screwed right now? A-drei wouldn't be able to kill her, but he can at least disable her, and the preview showing somebody being in a body bag just might be Saki as she's detained. And now that the rocket took off, even if she escapes A-drei's grasp she's still stuck on earth...

I'll never understand why people love to especially ship Sunrise mecha series. Like one of the most obvious examples of series with high character mortality rates and people still ship like crazy. Its like they love having their faint hopes dashed.

Yes, Lieselotte's death in this episode is predictable based on Sunrise's habit of not shying away from killing off their characters. However, who would have predicted where this train was going back in S1? This show is a series of incredible twists one after another. Only after S2 episode 5 that we got the gist of where it is going.

Predictable of not, the execution is way more important; and this episode has been the best VVV so far. Everything was crammed in perfectly: romance, suffering, irony, action, strategy, symbolism, and character development. All of those elements were set in just right so that none was over-dramatic while leaving the audiences (especially ones that have invested so much in the characters) on the edge of their seats. I, for example, had a brief moment of worry that L-elf was gonna die.

One major development coming out of this episode was that L-elf and Haruto have truly bonded as comrade. Their relationship of convenience was gone. Especially, L-elf for the first time received a rescue from Haruto. Now, the lonely love warrior knows that he as real friend in this world.

Here are some of my observations:

_ The kid Lieselotte that gave L-elf her hair had been jacked by Magius oba-san already. It is due to the fact that space vampire does not retain any memory from its host besides physical abilities.
_ L-elf is a massive hypocrite for two reasons: first, he taunts Haruto for compromising the mission with emotions, but L-elf was the one messing up his own plan when rashly went after Liz. Second, he prides himself in finishing the mission whatever the cost, but then agreed to have a knife fight with Q-vier and hesitated to kill the little guy when having a clear advantage. This flaw does not make L-elf a bad character. In fact, it makes him more likable as a real flawed human like the rest of us.
_ It's ironic that L-elf is extremely naive when it comes to love. He didn't bother about getting to know Liz better than an hour of meeting in 10 years.
_ Another irony is Haruto's dad will most likely experiment on Saki since she is shown in body-bag connected to a feeding tube in the preview.
_ The show has plenty of symmetry. Haruto is a Kamitsuki who loves a human girl vs. L-elf is a human who loves a Magius. Saki got a confession while Shouko suffered alone in S1 vs. Shouko is getting a confession while Saki suffers in S2
_ Kamitsuki and Magius are not the same. Each has their own advantages and disadvantages. They are destined to be enemy.

Some predictions based on the ED:

_Haruto is fighting a combined force of Dorssia and ARUS. I would not be surprise if Cain exposes the Kamitsuki's secret so that humanity will turn against New Jior.
_H-neun was not featured. He's most likely dead, or body-jacked.

All in all, this episode is a best one I've seen this season. The ED song is very good. I didn't like it at first when listening to the sample. But after looking at the visual and the timing, I think it fits Valvrave's mood greatly

I have invested so much in the characters of this show that only seeing their faces again in the ED makes me smile. I should have given this show 10/10. Oh wait, I already did :D

Hmm. Not bad. I know everyone's saying that it looks like Haruto will die (I actually agree that it looks that way btw), but I also kinda think that also leaves a chance for him to survive just so Sunrise can be all "What? You thought he would die? Pfft, what gave you that idea?"

Well, either way lol.

Intense episode. A lot of action as always and some secrets revealed. Thought L-Elf was going to die but it was Lieselotte. I kinda teared up when that happened. Losing all your memories right before you die is so fucked up. Guess next week is not going to be so intense.

Saki left on Earth, which will lead to the scenes from the second season preview where Saki meets Cain. As for expecting Haruto to die based on the new ending theme, I've pretty much assumed he would die at the end from the beginning.

I really REALLY wanted, when Liselotte was asked "So you're a really old woman?", for her to reply "I'm a man who took control of this girl's body"... or something along those lines. It would have been hilarious for L-Elf to find out he's been in love with a dude for 10 years. Oh well, missed opportunity for lulz IMO.

I wouldn't get your hopes up.. Sunrise shows "ghosts" or spirit/imaginary versions of deceased characters all the time in their OP/ED, doesn't mean anything usually. Also the way she exploded into flowers makes me really think it was just for show and doesn't mean she's still around.

Magius are gender-less though. They only assume the host's gender after jacking the body.

The thought that L-elf is in love with perhaps a thousand year old lady is amusing

^ Liz said that they are spirits without physical appearances. When their ship crashed on Earth, they had to jack body of all living things including animals and humans to survive. So it can be inferred that Magius are gender-less. The situation of Pino and Prue is interesting though. I want to know why these two have a distinct physical body (even trapped in the engine).

So you're making assumptions. All we know is that they are pseudo-immortal beings whom are capable of body-jacking, do not die of age, and feed off runes. We do not know how they reproduce, or if they reproduce at all. They could possibly reproduce as parasites, which would in turn give them a gender. To say they are genderless at this stage is not true.

We don't know.

Wow that poor L-elf. All that he's been doing so far has been for Liselotte yet (predictably) Liselotte dies. L-elf has all my sympathy, that last scene was nicely done.

Now that Saki has gotten her body back, no more bonding time with A-drei. And I liked seeing A-drei's nice side too. Looking forward to seeing what happens with Saki now that she's in the enemy's hands.

What a tragic episode! Just as L-Elf managed to confess... :( On a related note, am I the only one who thinks "Michael" is just a dumb way of saying his name? Especially since Dorssia is obviously Germany/Russia-based. Mikhail just sounds much more realistic and fitting.

Hopefully L-elf uses Lieselotte's death as a way to become even more of a badass avenger, although the bar has been pushed pretty high with his balls-out blatant disregard for the concept of death. Him angsting for very long doesn't seem likely at all.

New ED is definitely the weakest of the series. Lacks the certain epic oomph and exciting pizzazz that the other themes have.
