| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- That was the best episode yet, in my opinion. The animation for the fight was so spectacular. This is what I was expecting from this show and I'm glad it's delivering. I'm again sad that another antagonist has left the show, but looking forward to what comes next since they did well to establish that it wasn't just Silene looking for Akira. The change of ending song was great. I might pick up this soundtrack if they ever release it fully. |

| Well, I’m halfway through, and I’m kind of underwhelmed. Yeah, it’s cool and all, but I expect more from Yuasa. This just seems like the most basic, crowd pleasing thing he’s ever done. Music is good though as expected, lots of house and acid techno and I’m here for it. I had unrealistic expectations for this show, so maybe it my fault. We’ll see... |

| So we get Devilman vs. Silene in this episode. Nicely done, especially with its stylish visuals. But I think the fight worked better because of its soundtrack rather than its visuals. Anyways, now we'll be getting into the meat of Devilman. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Crybaby to bring up the anti-war themes. |

| This episode was awesome. He literally fucked her to death lmao! The animation and everything was great and the ending with her dying in place like that was pretty cool. Also it brought up the point that demons can experience love as well. This show definitely isn’t afraid of sexual content and I’m glad it isn’t. Sex and sexual desire seems to have a big role in this show. |

This episode's mood. A demon bird woman named Silene recognizes Akira as "Amon"; she wants to sex him. Things escalate into a fight. Just as Akira is about to defeat Silene, another demon named Kaim appears. He merges with her, and together they almost kill Akira until something petrifies them. I'm not entirely following what's going on, but holy shit is it entertaining. And I think I need the soundtrack. 5/5 |
| awesome! this was the first time Devilman was defeated. those 2 high level demons Seline & Kaim really did a beating to Akira... looks like rapper boy and Mikiko was taken over by something as well... 4/5. |

| The visuals were more than stunning in this episode, I finished the anime earlier today but this was surely one of the best episodes in my opinion. also that Akira nut tho |

| So this episode covers the Silene fight. It went by pretty quickly, considering they spent an hour long OVA on this in the past, which I personally found to be better executed. This felt like more of a recap and Silene was portrayed as a lustful demon that just wanted Amon for his body, whereas the OVA made her seem more tragic as a prideful demon that was actually in love. Glad they kept the way she died intact though. And is it just me, or is this series often too dark in particular scenes? Sometimes I could hardly make out what was happening in this fight. |

What was the team behind this anime thinking? Seriously. That's the point of the "contradiction. the contradictions are there to establish the conflict of a devilman's nature, a being who possess both the destructive urges of a devil, and the heart of a man. Akira wouldn't even lay a hand on an innocent girl, much less rape one. he realize "Silence" is nothing more than devil, so he chose to release his repressed urges on her, since she already came to him in the first place. Also, Akira didn't rape Silence in the manga and yet she still died. so no, rape wasn't the cause of her death. |

| This is absolutely stunning stuff. Visuals, music, art...just love it. Miko got demoned and as a result is faster and stronger (and sexier too). Will she become an antagonish for akira too? | It's interesting to observe how Western audiences became hypersensitive to a theme of rape in recent years. This is particularly noticeable in contrast to gruesome deaths of innocent people throughout the series which doesn't seem to bother anyone. Not that I'm being judgemental, it's just fascinating how rapidly cultural environment can shape public opinions. |

I don't mind the sex scenes and gore and violence because they're what makes this show awesome but the rapes, Jesus fucking Christ. First, Miko then Silene. I don't care if she's a villain. Yes, I accept that rape can be what gets the plot moving in any story, even in anime and manga (and can be part of a character's backstory and part of their character development yadda yadda) and dont get me started on how I abhor and look down on rapists in real life and believe all rapists, both men and women, should fucking die. I also look down on rapist apologists and think they're all scum. I hate Akira for that. Why couldn't he just kill Silene in another way instead of doing that? |

| The fight/fuck between Akira and Silene was not what I was expecting (the fuck part, that is). Because this an ONA, I shouldn't expect it to have the same restrictions as Japanese TV. Also, Miko is a Devilman now. |

| Everytime I rewatch the show (this is the fifth time I'm watching it, now, in the span of a month), the end to this episode feels more special. I just love how the series instantly transforms into a more morally gray story from this scene, it's amazing. The start of the encounter between Akira and Sirene, is one of my favourite scenes. The nature of the scene and the music is brilliant, and exciting! The actual fight is fun too, but I feel the lead up and the end to the fight are the best parts of the episode. Of course, gotta love the timing to the music when Devilman gets impaled! |

| I was also not really too fond of the rape fight thing. The demons finding love was kind of cool. Akira trying to control his sexual urges was kind of interesting. It makes sense, but this show is sort of extra edgy. |
