| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Not a bad episode. Probably the best one so far. It seems like the story kind of unfolded around Bolt Crank though. He didn't actually do a whole lot. |

I have so many questions that will mostly stay unanswered I'm afraid. Is the woman on the poster really Donna's mother? Did she make it up in order to cope with abandon?
In my opinion the episode really shows what a toxic relationship can do. Donna probably spent her whole life hearing from her so proclaimed father that she wasn't good enough for this, and would just end up like her mother. Thus despite having an opportunity of being an actress, Donna declines it, for not believing in herself enough and chosing a familiar hell rather than a lifechanging oportunity.
The ending scene when she tries to kill her father and reaches the mirror shows that in the end she was the one holding herself back. The trauma is not her fault but what she does with it is her responsibility.

| @w4line I don't think there was a definitive answer so it could go either way (ie: a convenient lie told to her, don't think she made it up herself), but I believed that was her mom and because of her fame there could never be any kind of relationship. |
