Sango, Kelly Sheridan. I really like her, I've enjoyed the roles I've heard her play. Nothing out of the ordinary, but there is something about her voice that I like.

My updated listing after nearly an entire year later... In ABC order...

1-Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad
2-Cowboy Bebop (TV+Movie)
3-Eden of the East (TV+Movie)
4-Evangelion 2.22
5-Hellsing Ultimate
6-Monster
7-Mushi-shi
8-Story Of Saiunkoku
9-Summer Wars
10-Welcome to the NHK

Funimation has really delivered with their dubs to some of the more recent anime films like Evangelion 2.22, King of Eden & Summer Wars. Maybe to the extent where you may say they all surpass their Japanese counterparts.

I really liked the dub of Eden of the East and Summer wars as well. I'm only partially through Story of Saiunkoku but I'm loving the dub of it so far.

It seems like it's a love or hate thing with NANA. I loved the dub, but I know many people really dislike it. I can kinda understand some people's dislike of Hachi's VA, because she's done voice work for Barbie so much, but I knew her from Inuyasha...

It is a great series. I wish it had been completed. I don't think the manga-ka will pick it back up.

It wasn't because I disliked Kelly Sherdian, I like her voice well enough, but I just thought the dub was so...uninspired I guess thats the word. It was okay, but not great which is the dub I believe the series deserved. But I only saw the first few episode, they could have gotten better.

Summer Wars was a amazing dub, fitting of a theatrical release.

Maybe it is because you only saw the first few episodes. I felt like it was such an emotional series, and the VAs really stood up to the task and delivered a good performance.

You'll have to let me know what you think if you finish the series.

I started watching Eden of the East and enjoying it so far ( only on ep 5 ). Same for Summer Wars especially because the VA for Kenji voices Dean Venture. The Venture Bros. is one of my favorites shows.

Casting Kelly Sheridan as Nana K. was genius. This coming from someone who’s listened to a bunch of Barbie videos including Barbie Island Princess with the guy who voiced L in Death Note singing. Hearing Kelly saying things Barbie would never say is gold. I don’t know about the rest of the Vancouver cast for Nana, especially the guys; they dub fine, just not distinctly enough to care.

Dubs i like, but are worse then the ones above (E.g Fate/stay night dub is good but when watching the sub the english voices sound like crap).

I am so the opposite from you when it comes to the F/SN dub. I can't hardly stand listening to the subbed version because I LOVE the dub VAs so much.

But everyone has their preferences. :)

You can't blame the fact that you've gotten used to the Japanese version on the dubs themselves.

Makes sense that you spent so much time listening to the VN.

However there is one scene in F/SN that even those who dislike dubs (I'm not saying that you are one of them) still think is more epic dubbed that subbed. And that is this scene...
***Warning, this is a MAJOR spoiler for those who have not seen the show, or who don't know much about it.***

2. Haibane Renmei
3. Shounen Onmyouji
4. Sasami Magical Girl Club (In my humble opinion, the dub is a HECK OF A LOT BETTER than the original! The Japanese version made some characters sound way too old or like they smoked weed!! The English really improves upon it awesomely).

You realize it's a gag dub, right? Basically meant to market the series as a new show with new jokes and Western pop culture references?

An unedited dub would be nice, though, even if all of the jokes would go completely over my head.

Explain why the us cando a decent dub of a very Japanese story like Pom Poko but not a real Shin Chan Dub

Pom poko is more Japanese than shin Chan is

Nobody bought Pom Poko. Ask 10 Americans what it is, and 10 of them will tell you they have no idea.

Which isn't to say Shin Chan was a better dub. I'm just saying that one clearly worked out better than the other from a business perspective.

I haven't heard the Brotherhood dub -- nor have I seen the show yet, but I'm curious: how does it compare to FMA? Funimation did a bangup job on that, and it would almost be disappointing that the sequel didn't match it, just like it was somewhat disappointing that Lodoss Chronicles' dub was weaker than the sometimes uneven but still great Lodoss OVA dub.

Brotherhood isn't a sequel, it's a rehash. And though many seem to disagree with me, I think they put a lot less effort into the dub for Brotherhood, presumably because the franchise was already at its height and there wasn't as much call for a good first impression. Vic and the other mains do as well as they ever do, but I find it really noticeable in regards to the background characters.

Also, though I can't hold this against the dub because they did the best they could after the time gap, a few of the voices have changed. Alphonse is no longer voiced by Aaron Dismuke (voice is too low now) and Scar is no longer Dameon Clarke (no longer in the voice acting business), along with a few other incidental characters.
