| Damn, they're mistreating Maomao. Getting smacked in the face and subject to possible torture, that Shenmei woman has no bounds. She's starting to become least likable character this arc/season imo. I'm still impressed at how Maomao is able endure all this. She's been a strong person no matter where she is so I'm not too surprised. |

| It’s as obvious as it gets that Loulan, if anything, isn’t quite like her evil mother. I mean it’s hard to be like her in the first place, but yeah, we know why Loulan’s been obeying her mother… she’s afraid. Fear really can do things, you see, they all know Shenmei is wrong and just do the stuff she does for fun, but they still don’t even try to take a stand for themselves in front of her. Though that doesn’t mean you just go and call Shenmei, “WRETCHED OLD HAG”, OR WHATEVER ON HER FACE LMAOOOO…. … like Maomao did. That’s why she’s the GOAT lol. Really, that wasn’t like Maomao, at all. She knows when to speak and where to speak, but yeah that just got her beyond frustrated when Shenmei wanted to have her way with the kid and that guard, just because she can. Really, Shenmei is giving more and more reasons for everyone to hate her. Pretty sure Loulan knew Maomao would have no problems whatsoever down there in the pit, with the snakes and stuff, so yeah, that punishment wasn’t actually a punishment for Maomao lol. That’s a pretty ancient method to punish people, but yeah, that’s what you’d expect from a place where Shenmei is ruling. Those last few moments were sooo good, but yeah then they had to do that with the kids smh. Been just one thing after the other since Maomao came there, and yeah, finally a full-fledged war is going to be one of those things too next episode xD |

| Holy fuck, one of the most fucked up Kusuriya episodes ever? My jaw’s on the floor after that ending. Lot to unpack here. Ok, Shenmei I tried being patient and understanding, maybe there was some characterisation they’d give you to justify the anger issues, but how dare you put your fucking hands on maomao! So much respect to Maomao for standing up for the kids and Suirei who were absolutely gripped with fear. I don’t even think we’ve seen people be that scared about the emperor in this series. It’s like they know shenmei is only a husk of a person. Hatred is the only thing fueling her. 4D chess from Shisui to get Maomao sent to the taibon torture chamber. Only maomao could turn a death sentence into a damn buffet 😭 this girl is insane. Is my Maomao Shisui ship still alive?? The yearning in that reunion scene ah they’re so cute. During pride month too lol “Mother barely remembers my face” so it’s clear at this point this is an extreme case of a parent living vicariously through their child. Shenmei doesn’t even really care about Shisui as an individual, she’s turned her into an ideal, a doll that represents the life she always wanted to live but didn’t get. It’s nothing more than a deeply emotionally troubled person creating a life sized doll. I couldn’t imagine having to live through that. Suirei grandmother being the emperor’s first victim and getting kicked out of the palace is so fucked up too. It’s even crazier when you think about Suirei mother being that daughter and herself getting kicked out when Shenmei came back from the palace. So the women in her family have had it so rough and for no fault of their own, just unfortunate cogs in the machine. Suiren deserves to be happy. Speaking of happy, I love the look on Shisui face when Maomao calls her by that name. It’s like a switch goes off that finally unlocks the cage she’s been in. She’s forced to live as Loulan, but Shisui is who she really is in her heart and Maomao and Suiren are the only people who really know the real her. That fucking ending tho?!!! Did we just see a child mass suicide?!! Hello?!!! Please tell me Maomao’s gonna pay off this resurrection potion plotline and be able to bring them back. I can’t live with Kyou and those poor babies going out like this for no fault of their own. In Maomao we trust, I need this next episode so badly. |

| A mother that's hated and with that behaviour i am not surprised she is hated, that woman is totally delusional. Louran seems to be acting out of desperation and her behaviour also seems to suggest she doesn't care about herself any more. To me it seems she is clearly set on dying at that place, not that she will have a better outcome of she gets captured, i want her to escape and live tho she is a nice character. Moamoa coming up for the others was nice but now she has a hard task ahead of her will she try to save the children, will she be able to save them? Things are getting really intense. |

| I would say again that kusobaba Shenmei needed the bullet of death rather than the elixir of immortality. Just one shot directly into her head and everything will end. Just one shot... Those snakes and insects seemed to be a good treat for Maomao. |

| At least the frogs were spared ...I think? Accepting that the same Shisui that were practically sisters to Xiaolan and Maomao is also the person who subjected those kids to the less messed up of two fates is such a painful pill to swallow. Whether it's by Lakan's, Jinshi's or better yet Maomao's own hands, I just hope Shenmei gets what's coming to her. |

| The moment I saw the snakes and bugs knew what was gonna happen lol. Shisui sent her there knowing that as well. But well if you needed more reason to dislike Shenmei, then here you go. So Shisui took abortion medicine and the lantern plant which is also used for abortion for that purpose. But man that ending, those children? Fuck. Also Shisui's smile was painful to watch. Also Suirei has royal blood in her. From the woman who died. So that was her grandmother. Everything is coming together. |

| We’ve never seen Maomao that consumed by blind rage before. she was ready to throw down with Loulan after what happened. That said, I still agree with Loulan’s decision. If she hadn’t intervened, they would’ve ended up brutally executed by the Forbidden Army. A swift, painless death is far kinder than whatever cruel fate Jinshi and Lakan would’ve dealt to their entire clan. |

Could someone explain to me how Surei's lineage goes? I'm confused by the fact that Shishou and the expelled physician isn't the same person and the statement 'the women who bore the previous emporers child was separated from her' I thought that one was about Jinshi.

| The stakes get higher, and Maomao is in a tough spot... Shenmei has very quickly become the most unlikable character in this series thus far, with how sadistic and nasty she can be. When she gets her just desserts, it'll be glorious. However, Maomao was able to shrug off the punishments she got in this episode with ease, and it's great how strong she has been throughout this experience. Even with how funny this anime is as times, it's episodes like these that remind us how unrelenting and cruel the world can be in this series, and honestly, Loulan did what she thought was right at the end, and for her and the kids, a painless exit may be the best outcome for them. I wonder if Maomao can save them with the resurrection medicine that she has supposedly been cooking up. It's brutal that we have to wait two weeks until the next episode! |

| Like most people, I am also hoping that poison was the resurrection medicien (Yomigaeru no kusuri) But I am doubting. Coz like what Loulan said, that sort of death is much kinder than letting them live and experience the punishment that's about to come to their clan. Spare them of suffering I guess? this route is like a kind but tragic end for them. IF tho it's the resurrection one, questions that'll float are, first they come back alive and then what? they get captured by the army and gets punished. OR maybe Loulan has already set up some sort of escape for them, meaning, they all erase their past, get new names and start fresh. I do want this to happen but... there's a lot of complications there and they're going to be forever running and hiding, which obviously, opens up a lot of potential of them being used as characters to interact with MaoMao in the future... but this sort of life is really harsh, coz even if they get away there's always that fear and paranoia of getting found out. Curious to know tho what others ideas and thoughts are... but yeah... excited for the next episode. |
| still haven't wiped the tears flowing down my face while writing this Maomao's strong sense of justice always puts her in a tough position, she would always go as far as sacrificing herself just to save others. Too bad for them Maomao is a Cat, and she is the predator to these venomous insects  Suirei trying to save Maomao and Kyo-u is really good to see, you know she's a good person who was just forced into doing the things she did because of this evil woman And then Shisui  I WANT TO PROTECT THAT SMILE It's just so cruel, the kids got nothing to do with this, but the rebellion of their clan will result to their execution and no one will be spared, maybe Shisui is right that it is a medicine, for them to have a peaceful sleep. Maomao (Yuuki Aoi) did a reading of the ending song Hitorigoto by omoinotake This ending song has been hitting me deeper every episode, and now this is just overkill |
| welp i guess that seals the deal on my hope for shisui(loulan) to survive the whole ordeal😭 there's no way author would keep her alive after doing all that. well, there's still a chance that those kids were given the resurrection medicine tho (that actually might be the case since some authors doesn't go that extreme). so there's still a tiny bit of chance that she survives. |

| Damn... I'm kind of at a loss for words in regards to that ending. I really hope that Kyou-u's death isn't permanent and that Maomao can do something about it with the revival medicine. At least the episode started off lovely with Shisui showing off how well she truly knows Maomao by changing her punishment to something that involved poisonous animals instead. And true enough, Maomao enjoyed that alot, she turned it into a feast xD These two are such great friends. I sincerely hope that Shisui and Suiren can be saved from their fates and somehow be allowed to live, despite being part of the betrayal. I would give anything for Maomao and Shisui to be able to hang out again like they did before... |

I loved how Maomao didn't remain silent, even knowing she would be punished: she wasn't trapped in a pit of poisonous snakes and insects; they were trapped with her. Poor Suirei, he is a real victim in all this. I suspected he had some relationship with the former emperor, his grandmother was his first victim of abuse by the former emperor, expelled along with her daughter, Suirei's mother. But now I wonder... could Suirei's mother have been the woman telling ghost stories in that episode where Maomao and Shisui went to hear ghost story? She looked so much like Suirei, it seemed oddly appropriate. And then there's Shisui: my mind exploded when Maomao discovered she was aborting the emperor's children. Shenmei not only traumatized Suirei, he also destroyed Shisui, turning her into a doll who can't even recognize her own face unless she's painted the way Shenmei wants her to be. I imagine Shisui resorted to abortion as her only escape from that cage. But what was that ending?! How did all the children die? And Kyou accepting suicide—it makes sense that when the imperial army arrives, they’ll slaughter everyone without exception. But why didn’t they flee with the children beforehand? I can only hope they took the resurrection elixir and are just temporarily lifeless. One thing is inevitable—karma is catching up to Shenmei, and she will pay for all her victims and the coup she orchestrated. |

If you put bunch of venomous snakes, insects in a room with Maomao, she is still by far most dangerous... Gochsousama😋 Wow Shenmei bitch is even worse than every expectation. Literally one piece of shit which does indeed deserves cruelest of fate is her. Hopefully she gets it. Shisui is the only one int his whole clan I don't hate. Surirei also has gotten better. So I want them to atleast make alive. Tbh ain't looking good. Shisui plan was quite nice to give Maomao "punishment" she knew what's this girl is capable off. Also let those workers escape by blowing the gunpowder..kind and crazy. Suirei stroy was very apparent but finally all dots are connected. I initially had thought she was Taihou's daughter but this makes sense. I really don't know what to make of Shisou but I can't imagine the whole plot is just on the whims of Shenmei, he is equally responsible. I think his side will be covered next time. Loulan took abortion pills but I still didn't understand correlation to cricket story she told earlier. Because it was related to plot to kill Jinshi and Emperor maybe.. I can't really blame Shisui for these kids either. She is right entire clan will killed so it's better to die this way how fucked up does it sounds. | Damn, these episodes are getting better and better towards the end. We got way too many revelations. Kyou trying to save Maomao but getting everybody in trouble and Maomao trying to save everyone by calling that b*tch Shenmei as Kuso-baba lol.. that was satisfying but not Maomao and Suirei getting hit so badly by her. Especially Suirei..that hurt so much 💔😭😭 Maomao turning her punishment into a feast ❤️🔥😂🤣 Even Shisui/Loulan wouldn't have guessed that much when she tried to save her. So Taiho is Suirei's grandma !! 😮😮 My guess is that Shisui/Loulan brought Maomao with them for not to use her as a bargain chip instead use her to make Jinshi and Lakan bring the punitive force to destroy Shiso and Shenmei for good. I wanted Shisui to escape with Maomao from all this but after what she did to Kyou and the other kids made me reconsider that. Even if she was trying to save them from the life that was waiting for them after this. That was uncalled for.. RIP kids 💔💔 |

| i didn't like that conclusion Shisui came up with concerning those kids, she wasn't thinking ahead. Maomao could have saved all the women and children in that fortress. well, except for the crazy old hag, she need to die while being tortured. Maomao's dad Lakan is obviously going to be the battle leader of that punitive force; he is desperate to save Maomao and Jinshi will obviously be the political leader behind the force. since Maomao has 'an in' with both men, she could demand leniency for innocent bystanders to this rebellion. but i can see where Shisui was hoping the kids would just fall asleep peacefully and not have to go through the fortress being attacked and then everybody inside being put to death. it was more merciful to euthanize the kids than any other end they could have faced. |
