It's almost has been a year since the airing first episode .Do you guys think that an anime will actually get more score than sousou no frieren.

tbh aot season 3 part 2 deserves that spot but it is what it is so I think either LOTM or ORV can take that spot from frieren

no, I think it will be a long time until a new anime as notable as frieren to FMAB. I followed DANDADAN and thought it could make it up there but no. Maybe when witch hat gets adapted or maybe magus of the library. I really do doubt anything will be close to frieren.

I think There is no new gen anime that can surpass Frieren right now. But also I think Frieren is overrated, Fmab should still be first.

I can't really rate AOT after the bad ending, LOTM is Chinese, a lot of people won't even watch it, ORV I'm a bit hesitant after reading SL, I hope it's really as good as some people say.

hmm... probably not. Only even slight competitors could be WHA (comes out next year) or Magus of the Library (no anime known but it'd be great).

I doubt this, but I'd love to see Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity go up there, it is an amazing series and has probably the best team within Cloverworks but it's a romance so I doubt it could get that high

yeah, but there are different types of romance. That one was more comedic whilst the one I mentioned is more serious, wholesome, and cute. it's published as a shounen, but honestly, it's more like a shoujo. Though it does have extremely good ratings.

I don't think frieren will get surpassed. I mean 9.32 is insanely high compared to the 2nd & 3rd best rated animes. who I want to surpass it? bleach cour 4. will it happen? not a chance lol

Frieren is a top 20 anime for me so I think that a lot of other anime deserve #1 but realistically, it's not possible for big names like ReZero, AoT or even the One Piece remake to become #1 because they have too many haters that will dedicate their entire life to downvoting it. Frieren is special in this regard. Somehow, it survived the toxicity of the anime community and I can't really tell you why but that's just how it is.
Only other anime that are similar to frieren in terms of having a perfect adaptation (peak animation, OST, direction), an actually great story and being kind of niche (I know Frieren is not niche at all but when it first aired the manga was pretty unknown and there where no preexisting haters) while having a dedicated fanbase will have a chance at competing with it.

@mccreepyy I didn't read Kaoru Hana wa Rin to Saku, so no comment, but if you know that the manga has good ratings, why are you so pessimistic about the anime having good ratings?

Kaoru Hana is a terrific series. The reason I expect it to get such high ratings is because the story is extremely good, and the anime is being done by Cloverworks - and by the team that made Akebi's Sailor Uniform, so it'll be visually stunning at the very least on top of the great story.

I completely forgot about Fruits Basket lol, that's true though it did have more than romance in it with the supernatural and fantasy elements which help attract a bigger crowd, though it is terrific (unfortunately it's hard for me to fully rewatch it)

Who knows perhaps one day something will come to take that spot. No one predicted Frieren to do so who’s to say it won’t happen again. Maybe that series isn’t adapted or it simply doesn’t exist. But it’s not impossible

i personally think the demon slayer movies might have a chance cuz they are adapting the best manga arc and it will have the best animation in all of anime

ORV is way better than SL in terms of plot, story and development of characters and they are very different with how they used the system trope as well.

I was about to respond to the actual question but that take is pretty bad, yeah its the best part of AOT, but Frieren is both longer and also has overall better production quality than S3P2 of AOT so that makes the difference for sure.

probably at some point. It'll slowly drop in rating as months/years go and eventually something new in like 2028 will take it's place (just if it goes the same as FMAB, FMAB was resting at 9.31 years ago and has slowly dipped down in average - same with all the shows in the top 10 from back then - until it was able to be passed. So I imagine this will do the same)

tbh im not interested on answering who deserves it, since it is very subjective lol, however i do think that if bugfilms really does a great job with witch hat atelier (i doubt it), it can surpass frieren. I also think that one piece remake has all the possibility to surpass it, the quality of the story is there just by looking the rating of the manga, it has already a huge fandom that will give it 10/10 ratings, and its going to have better pacing, better direction, etc. And damn, if it gets separated into several entries, i can see it having multiple entries in the top 10.
