Japanese title of “orb:on the Movements of the Earth" is "チ。 -On the Movements of the Earth".
The "Chi=チ” which is written in katakana has multiple meanings.
Since kanji characters are ideogram, it is thought that multiple meanings are intentionally given by using the phonetic character "katakana" to write the title.

The first applicable kanji is "地”. This kanji means ground.
Also,the pronunciation of Japanese character” 。” is “Maru” in Japanese. And in Japanese we say sphere “kyuu”.
“。=Maru” can mean sphere in Japanese as you can see the shape of this character.
So "チ=Chi" + "。=kyuu" = "chikyuu".
"Chikyuu" means the Earth in Japanese.
Therefore,only in this case,orb is suitable translation.

The second kanji is "知”. This kanji means knowledge,intelligence,smartness or wisdom. In a sense, the protagonist of this story is knowledge itself called heliocentric theory.

The third kanji is "血”.
This kanji means blood. In this work, it means that a great deal of blood has been spilled by those who tried to pursue the truth due to intellectual oppression or torture caused by religious backgrounds.
"blood" also means "bloodline", or what is continuously inherited through heredity. It is implying that the story is about the inheritance of intellectual curiosity and inquisitiveness as an intention of a deceased until revealing the truth.
It is a pity that the translation of the title did not encompass these multiple meanings, but I hope that the readers of this post will grasp the true author’s intention of the title”Orb=チ。”in Japanese."
