This show is crazy, with the action parts. I love it though, it's absolute cinema seeing Ranma lose his shit varius moments.

Akane has her attitude spilling into this episode too. Feels like a lot of the main characters are hotheaded. Akane seems super popular at school but seems like she's not interested in dating anyone at all.

Wow @ the beginning narration. Nice jobs for new voices of the doctor and kendo guy. I like their voices.

Another great episode! MAPPA doing an amazing job of bringing that 80s anime vibe to a modern audience, just like David Pro did for UY, PLUS that Inuyasha esque OST(same composer!) just makes everything even better. This really does feel like a blast from the past, of the good old days of anime.

This week’s episode title of “I hate men” is so real, love my misandrist queen Akane so much 😭 and considering she gotta deal with a pack of hungry dudes trying to fight her everyday before class to win her heart, I do not blame her at all. That’s gotta be beyond annoying lmao. And it’s all cause of Kuno. I guess he’s gonna be this series’ mendo?

Dude is hilarious though, I like the old fashioned samurai gimmick he’s got going on and well if he likes strong girls, it’s no surprise he fell for Ranma. Two episodes in and we got our first confession. I’m sure in time Ranma’s gonna form a nice little harem as a boy and a girl lmao, can’t wait to see where this goes.

Sugita as Kuno? That's awesome. If I was bro I would go for Nabiki instead of Akane. That's just me, tho. I guess if you're into strong girls then female Ranma is already an upgrade xD

Dr. Tofu! the one man Ranma notices Akane makes an exception too.
Because of Kuno, Akane has to deal with fights every morning. Ranma living with her does not bode well.
lol Nabiki stirring the pot.
After being bested by female Ranma, Kuno now has eyes for someone other than Akane, too.

Another amazing episode with a lot of cute and funny moments. With some confusion as well. It's funny to me that Akane has to deal with those boys every morning and she beats them every day, yet they come back every time. Funny guys they are.

Ranma's first day at school was full of troubles for him. Kuno-Senpai challenged him and then fell in love with his female form and actually confessed his feelings to her as well. LOL. Ranma was flabbergasted. Can't blame her tho. Loving the adaptation. It's very cute.

ABSOLUTELY CINEMA IN COMEDY AND FIGHTS!

The art direction was fantastic here, that whole sequence of Ranma and Akane trying to disguise the fact that Ranma could turn into a girl was too comical, I confess that I managed to laugh a few times there in the end, aaaaaaaaaa I want more episodes, please!😔🙏

The soundtrack also fit the fights perfectly, creating a climax that was soon broken by a moment of comedy. Damn if this quality continues until the end of the season I will definitely prefer this version over the old one

Finally, the debut of Dr. Tofu and more importantly, Kuno-chan. Their new voice actors are really good. Tho Kuno sounds a bit too old even compared to his OG VA. His OG VA sadly passed away years ago. I assume he would've reprised his role if he were still alive.

Apparently, the announcer dude is a brand new original character created for the remake. So far, he just seems like an extra. Wonder how far they're gonna go with him. Would be cool if he's like a new Megane or Lum's Stormtrooper or at least a new Sasuke. But I doubt it.

The pacing of this episode was good. Especially considering that in the OG anime, this episode was basically a two-parter. I think it's cause the OG anime had a lot of anime-original content that made it longer. Especially in episode 3 which only adapted a single chapter of the manga. I remember watching it and being excited that Ranma 1/2 would have more of a continuity with each episode, unlike Urusei Yatsura.

This was a good episode. Kuno's confession scene was hilarious. I like how the remake adds a lot of dramatic effects for the comedic scenes. It truly adds more flavor to the anime. My only real concern is the pacing. Since the remake will adapt more in 12 episodes than the OG did in 20. In terms of comedic timing, I think so far it's better than David Production's Urusei Yatsura which overused freeze frames and the completely new OST that didn't sound very good compared to the OG UY or match the zany vibe of the series.

Tatewaki Kuno!!!! I remember him from the old Ranma anime. He’s from a samurai family, right?

Dude is funny, and a rival for Ranma since he seems obsessed with Akane? She seems more interested in the doctor than with him or Ranma tho lol

And look, there were a lot of people saying that this would be bad because of the censorship on the nipples, for me this is perfect the way it is so far. I honestly hate remakes of any type of anime, but This one from Ranma½ is much superior to the original quality, both are great, but I prefer this updated style the way it is

I have to say, when it comes to this remake, I think MAPPA did a good job with the animation. However, after watching the first few episodes of the original Ranma, I noticed that in the second episode of the remake, they removed several scenes that were in the original.
I get that changes are necessary to differentiate a new adaptation, but they cut out some interesting parts that I think should have stayed. Even if you haven't seen the original Ranma, the pacing in the remake feels a bit rushed.
In my opinion, they didn’t do the best job adapting the story and I really dislike when key parts of the original are left out. I think a good adaptation shouldn't skip any scenes, even if it means extending the episode count.

This shit is hilarious.
I won't blame Akane for hating men at this stage each morning having to beat hoards of lusting male lol.
Also the secret about being married didn't even last 1 period. Atleast she did help Ranma out selfish reasons but still. I wonder how long Ramana's this secret will last.
Poor Kunou took such a beating he abandoned his path of violence and resorted to normal means.

I have seen some animes from early 90 s to late 90s. I think quite a few but boy the vibe is so lates 80s n early 90s with good animation that it just feels like a breath of fresh air.
That’s the kind of anime I remembered watching sometimes on TV.
So glad didn’t start Ranma 1/2 old adaptation, it was on my list but after seeing this I deleted the entries and wud love to watch this.
Now I know why people recommended Ranma 1/2 even though it’s an old anime. I missed this I hate u , can’t stand u vibe and gradually coming close n still going back to square one. Many animes I lately watched were all one sided or mutual but no fighting. This and Natsume wud be my goto anime every week and my dose of happiness.

Looks like they fused what used to be two episodes into one, I was wondering about that because i remembered Nabiki doing a handstand on Akane’s bed which wasn’t here in the remake (of course I would remember something like that lol), but I’m ngl it didn’t really feel like they skipped anything at all, I thought the pacing of this one was very good, and I think it makes sense for these chapters to be one episode, it’s just the OG apparently added original stuff which is something I love about classic anime, but I get why they wouldn’t do that here in the remake with so much to adapt.

And this one first introduced us to Dr. Tofu, and Betty the deadhead lol, I really enjoy Tofu in the OG so it’s nice to see him here, but this is but a taste of what he’s about, we got teased on Akane’s crush on him but that’s about it. But the biggest introduction of the episode was Kuno, a shame to hear his OG VA passed away but his new VA is doing a great job. I remember back when I first watched these episodes I thought Kuno would be a one-off villain, but turns out there was plenty more of him to come as a reoccurring character to the point he’s one of my favorites, I’m exciting to see more of him in the remake. In this one we see Kuno not only take on Ranma for coming between him and Akane, but also fall in love with Ranma when he becomes his female version around him, Kuno certainly went through a lot of emotions in just one episode lol.

And I really liked the way they stylized the scene where Kuno gave Ranma flowers in that manga sort of way, very cool and I’m sure it adds to the nostalgia for those who have read Ranma 1/2, I hope to see more scenes like that.

What I'll give this remake is that the pacing feels a lot tighter so far, like this episode was episodes 2 and 3 in the original but condensed into one it flows a lot better. We'll see how they can keep that up but it's a strong start. Apparently that microphone guy is anime original, didn't think they'd be making those kinds of changes this time around but it's not too distracting, I imagine he's mostly there to help with the pacing. I like how they reanimated the second, shorter opening they used in the original for a few episodes, and I noticed how the new narrator is Kenichi Ogata, who voiced Genma in the original, but in the dub it's David Kaye, who voiced Soun in the original's dub. I love when dubs can carry over that kind of casting continuity, it can't be easy but it's worth the effort.

Great episode. Some of you noted that in the OG this part was covered in 2 episodes but I think it is more correct to say not that they fused them, but that they adapted in one episode 3 chapters that was splitted in two episodes in the OG, and in particular the EP3 covered only one chapter which means basically half of it was Anime original. Of course I'm not saying that it was bad or worse, but that the "remake" has a pace more similar to the manga

Kuno is here. Does anyone even like him? Barely has any favourites compared to other Ranma characters, despite being a regular supporting character. Yeah, pretty awkward for Ranma that Kuno is in love with the girl version of him.

The adaptation is okay so far, as they haven't skipped any chapters yet, probably because it's still in the process of introducing all the supporting characters. No issues with episode 2.

Ahh, I see. I just checked the manga, and it looks like you were right, the remake follows the manga more closely, whereas the original added a lot of its own scenes.
In that case, the remake is actually a better adaptation. My bad for thinking the remake wasn’t adapted perfectly.
