Okay, I think I'm into this now. At least more than in ep 1.

I knew Funai would screw Kaiji over, that was for sure. Didn't feel bored this time, it was actually quite interesting and I'm looking forward to the Showdown.

Yeah definately saw that one coming. :)
It's indeed getting interesting now, I wonder how the three of them will do?
It seems like Kaiji has a plan.

Thanks De-Jay for my claim picture : ).

Man it takes some skill to make a game of rock paper scissors interesting! But they pulled it off! I love the emotion in this series. They really did a great job of portraying people who are close to losing everything. Yea the backstabbing was obvious, but they still did a great job on it. Can't wait for episode 3!

Some people even said Yugioh lol ( I saw about three Japanese MAD vids related to this: funny stuff) Kaiji manga was released somewhere in 1996.

That was great. Funai's plan was really obvious, kinda made me wonder how Kaiji actually got fooled.
But i really wanna see how his plan will end up next episode. I'm expecting epicness.

I'm still not really fond of the art style, but it's slowly growing on me.

Yeah cards, star chips, a cruise ship, main character gets screwed over by someone he trusts yet obviously shouldn't have...

I'm not sure why I liked this but didn't like Yugioh. Maybe its Kaiji or the presontation...

I say this right from the off - Kaiji is one of those shows that you'll either really love or hate.

I've read up to the start of the 17 steps (mahjong) arc in the Manga - and I am fucking loving it!

If you're not really sure about it, just stick with it for a bit as it might take a little while to heat up for some people.

But man, once it does it fuckin' BURNS! The manga has screwed my head in so many times with some of the most FLIPPED OUT, INSANE plot twists and turns I have ever seen! Anyone who has read up past the E-card (Emperor card) arc will know exactly what I mean! :)

Okay ahhaa. The first strategy that came to my mind was teaming up with someone, then skaming them -_-

And if it had happened once, then I would have then the next time put down a card that would have won against the card that would have won against me
:> Take one last gamble..

either that or I would have ran away :P

Kaiji is so naive, and this world of dog eats dog no one will help you. Even though they could save each other. I can't believe Kaiji still trust in people after what his friend who cosigned with him did to him. You got stabbed twice in the back now Keiji what are you going to do?

I just hope that Keiji won't turn into a vulture and screw these two guys up!

OMG Kaiji is an idiot, first of all he trusted Funai too easily, second he trusted him when what he proposed didn't make any sense... unless there was some mistake in the fansub I'm watching Kaiji has to return 14 million and only has 10, what's the point of using all his cards, if he still only has 3 stars? He needs MORE than 3 stars in order to sell them and turn a profit, so why the hell did he agree?

It was so obvious that Funai would screw Kaiji over, how naïve can you be?
