| i hate this ending, shit feels like a copout. We really had to set thru all that build up and bum ass Pegasus and his boring ass cult for it to end like this? nah this aint it Sachi just randomly finding Punpun and saving him after he just stabbed himself was an immaculate asspull. he should've died there. Punpun dying while his uncle having a baby and "God" coming out of the baby's eye as the last panel would've been a better "Circle of life" ending than whatever tf we got and the cult should've been more involved with the ending, their whole story was fuckin lame and pointless. You can't even take this shit seriously if you try to re-read it |

| I actually liked the ending. It shows how insignificant individuals are. It shows how everything we've seen through Punpun's eyes, is just our normal, daily lives. Punpun is just part of a mob. Whatever he, or the side characters, have done, it still won't affect the world. Everything keeps repeating since we're all reliant on the same society. |

| ending definitely caught me off-guard, i genuinely didn't expect a hollow ending like that. i expected something a little bit more...dramatic? got mixed feelings about this manga, the pegasus scenes were boring as shit and i just skimmed through 'em. on the other hand though, i can't deny that yuuichi, sachi, punpun, and aiko's stories were great. not the biggest fan of pessimistic works to begin with soo...8/10 |

| Things escalated rather rapidly over the final 20-30 chapters there, aside from the Pegasus Cult. Which I didn't particularly care about either way. I felt those chapters were more of a chore to get through as I was simply craving more Punpun-related content. Either way, Aiko and Punpun together during their escape was certainly... something. I guess we're supposed to assume Aiko died, but seeing as she left a note and they never acknowledged they found her body, or showed a funeral, I sort of feel like she may have just ghosted Punpun. At the very least, it's probably left up to the reader's imagination whether she's dead or not. I really prefer Sachi over Aiko anyway, so I can't say I'm not disappointed about how her and Punpun's relationship panned out. I feel like they would've been pretty good for each other, and I guess being friends and overall positive figures in one another's lives is better than nothing, but I feel a bit cheated out of that ship. Though, whose to say they aren't closer than the series is letting on, or even if Punpun later actually gets over Aiko in the future and fully embraces Sachi. Again, seems like it's at least possible, even if not explicitly depicted at the end. Overall, this was a pretty emotional series and I feel like it did a good job of translating human emotions onto pages with words, but even more so with the art. Based on the art-style alone I intend to check out Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction. Having Punpun's shape change throughout the series was rather engaging, and his relationship with the physical manga panels themselves were often very interesting. Though, even more of the down-to-earth stuff; characters, buildings, nature, backgrounds, etc was extremely detailed. I enjoyed this series. |

| Looks like this is the end of a very painfull but unique reading expierence. The ending really felt like ideal fit for the themes of this series. We started from kid Punpun and now we end up seeing him as an ordinary grown up, living his life , sadly it's without Aiko. At least he now has something he can call family and for someone like Punpun it's better than nothing. Its really better that we never got to see his face because it really isn't something that was meant to be shown or something that would have some sort of impact to the story overall. When I read the final few pages of this chapter I was more happy than I could ever be from this manga. I finaly realised what it all meant, it really is The Cycle of despair that just keeps repeating. And we all were given an oppotunity to witness that cycle up close to its fullest with its beautiful and tragic, shocking and emotional moments. This manga definitely is something that can be very unique that we will probably never expierence again, theres a few good reasons why people say this manga broke them and that we should not read manga if we are easily psychologically affected by something. Most of top rated mangas have some sort of heroes and their adventures and how they overcome everything and do something heroic in the progress but this one isn't like this at all. I doubt that I will have much desire in myself to read this again but the verdict is clear as a day - It's a masterpiece full of symbolism and despair |

| Going through Punpun's experiences was just insane and Aiko's tragic death after all the suffering she went through is one of the most soul-crushing things I've ever experienced. Just thinking about how she wasn't able to find happiness and live on next to the one she loved is enough to make me cry again. This manga is just in a league of its own. EDIT: woke up twice last night... teared up in both of them. This hurts so much. |

| Aug 25th, 10:22am. Oyasumi, Punpun God, that image of Old Punpun waving at Shuntarou made me tear up. This is a ride I'm so glad I went into. denyomonogatari said: No, we needed Pegasus. Punpun was so empty, that Pegasus was a way to escape all of the trouble. Hell, I would think that even Shimizu had his own reasons, but even he wouldn't have joined a cult if it wasn't for their lives being the way they were.Would've been a 10/10 without the Pegasus crap. But, if I remember correctly, he took her body down and then carried her with him. Then left her with those kids alongside that shack. Left, came back and she was gone. If she was dead, how did her body disappear? Those two young kids certainly didn't carry her. There was also a note that said, "May you never forget me." I feel like she's not dead. Or at the very least, only like 99% -- not 100. |

| Its incredible how theres different stories with different leads here but they all stil posses the same tone. Wasn't a fan of the Pegasus and Shimizu ones because it was a lot to take in but everything else I thought was pretty enjoyable ( in its own depressing way of course). 8.5/10 |

| This ending is far from being a "good ending" in my opinion, but it's also not a bad one in that sense, it's hard to put words on it, but the closest to my feeling right now would be, it's just as life goes |

| I don't really know what to say about this, other than I liked the first half but the second half pushed any enjoyment out. I guess I was expecting Evangelion but got Tokyo Ghoul instead. The ending makes perfect sense after thinking it over. A fine read overall |

| In the end, Punpun is still getting blown by the wind to wherever he gets. Although it's not the ending I was looking for, I think an open-ended one works just fine too. Seeing Punpun in the perspective of Harumi is just like how we view a stranger or an old friend, not really knowing what they've been through nor do we really care about them is so cruel yet the most 'normal' thing we do in our eveyday lives. The world just keeps on moving forward, whether we like it or not. A one-of-a-kind manga I've ever read, not that I've read so many, but this manga really blew me away from its artwork and how unpredictable the events are. Overall, it was a nerve-wracking yet quite a fun ride. The dark side of the manga genre I was not ready to experience, not knowing what I'm in for, was quite a revelation for me. Kudos to you, Inio Asano. Goodnight, Punpun. |

| I had to re-read this to see what I missed but I realized I was being too soft last time, this manga was a total failure from Asano in his quest for being deep, the cultist plot was ridiculous and there is 200 other things I could complain but this manga was long and cba to talk more about it, only good thing about Asano is his drawing, for the rest he is forgettable, anyways 2/10 after re-reading. Laughable manga |

| How much depressing could a person's life get? Atleast towards the end Punpun gets to live a somewhat happy life. I did want a full face reveal to be honest. This is truly a rollercoaster of emotions I pray GOOD VIBRATIONS to the characters |
| Honestly I expected more out of this manga. Everyone praised it so much and people talk like it's the best thing out there, but to me it's just slightly above average. |
| I hate punpun with my life, but i can understand why he was such a sick man... What I can't forgive is his insistence on ruining the lives of others, literally in the entire manga he never showed empathy for anyone (at least after he stopped being a child). And most important than anything... AIKO DESERVED BETTER T.T i cried a lot for her and i still cant believe that she ended her life just like that, after having such a bad life PunPun didnt do ANYTHING to make her happier :C, im so fucking depressed after this, i cant deny that IS a FUCKING MASTERPIECE, but i regret reading it, i will never recommend this to anyone and i will keep my volumes away of my family C: 10/10 |
